Hey guys, me and some friends are starting up Rogue Trader soon and my character is an Arch-Militant, so I have the option of starting out with a hunting rifle, but I cant find this in the rulebook. Where is it listed?
IG Best Gen 1st overall of 10 DE 4th overall of 6
Eldar 3rd Overall/Best General of 26--2nd Overall/Best General of 7--1st Overall/Best General of 11
Basic, 150m, S/-/-, 1d10+3 I, Pen 0, Clip 5, Reload Full, Accurate, 5kg
No reason not to use any of the equipment in the Dark Heresy books. The rules are very nearly interchangable (apart from psychic).

Hunting Rifle has served me well in all my time paying Dark Heresy. Especially since they errata'd Accurate to give more damage when you aim. Put a red dot and manstoppers in there and you're good to go.

Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight (Absylonia)
Slightly less powerful than a hotshot longlas, but silenced and capable of firing every round - a decent weapon in Dark Heresy but a little underpowered for a Rogue Trader.
The nomad rifle (inquisitors handbook) with hyper-density penetrator rounds is an excellent replacement, 125m range (with the penetrator rounds), 1d10+5 I, Pen 5, Clip 4, Accurate, Tearing, Reliable, Knockdown.
Discerning Rogue Traders may try for something a little more illegal ... such as the Angelus bolt carbine (a 3 round custom made rifle chambered for Astartes caliber rounds).
