then what else? boosters?... theme decks.
I would get the starter then go with booster backs only after that IMO

Whatever you do , DON'T buy Fifth Dawn packs. Fifth Dawn is the worst set IMHO

I'd recommend delving into the older sets in Magic. There are very few sets that have as good cards as Mirage, Urza's Saga, and Apocolypse. These could be rather hard to find though.
