Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey we have had the "favourite class" poll going for a while now, so I thought I'd start a poll so we can see which class most people think totally sucks.
I've only included the basic PH classes in the poll but if you think some other class deserves to be declared sucky then by all means mention it in your post! Btw the poll is multiple choice so if you think more than one class sucks go for it.
Anyway I choose cleric, as I've never seen anyone with a cleric character have any fun. It always seems to go like this:
Enthusiastic newbie player: "I'm gonna be a cleric! I can totally heal myself and control zombies and s**t!"
Vet players and DM: "Well, if you want, but sometimes they get a bit boring..."
Then during the game:
Cleric: "I attack... damn I missed. Why can't I have a sword again? This flail sucks."
The battle ends.
Cleric: "Cool, I finally get to do something! I'll heal you... and you.... and you. Uh, that was... fun?"
Cleric: "I, uh don't know if cleric is the class for me after all. Is it cool if I make a ranger?"
Hah ha ha stoopid clerics! They are fit only to be NPCs I tell ya!

Heh.. I on the other hand like clerics. With a little magic, thay are second only to fighters in combat, plys their magic is actuallt quite neat. Furthermore, their magic is SO much more than just healing. Especially at higher levels, they can be as devastating with magic as mages, eventhougt that they need to put more thought into what they are doing to truly rock. My idea of an ideal 4 man group would be 3 clerics and a rouge/wizard... That would kick so much but if played tactical enough
I voted paladins. Sure, they get some neat abilities, but they get nothing that I cant get in with a prestige class elsewhere. But the thing that borthers me about them is the PRICE they pay for their powers. First, they have to have the next to un-playable alignment idiotic...I mean lawful good, and second they have this crippeling limitation as to who they are allowed to assosiate with. In our group, when someone is stupid enough to play a paladin, he usually ends up dead or is forced to leave the group because he simply cannot comply with the way we solve problems.
btw you have made a mistake while making the poll; druids and clerics are two WAY diffrent classes...
Yeah I realized that there were only 10 spaces but 11 basic classes. I should have put sorceror/wizard as one choice and put cleric and druid as seperate ones. Oh well
I voted barbarian. Playing one goes somesthing like this" I hit it, it dies, i am to stupid to remember the treasure in the hord". paladin runs a close second with his "it goes against my alignment" all th time.
I'm one of those people that believes in the balance of anything.
All of the classes are good and bad in their own ways. However if I ABSOLUTELY had to choose, I'd say bard...just because everytime I think of one I see a Clown strummin' on a banjo casting magic from his crappy singing

Yeah that's the sort of thing I mean, not just game mechanics/balance, but which class just doesn't appeal to you for whatever reason.Originally Posted by Pidgeon_Death

Rack another up for those flute playing bards! Singing in D&D, sheesh - what next, a Bee Gees RPG?
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.

Bards are by far the worst class IMHO.
Clerics are totally solid after a they gain some experience levels, but I really feel that way about All the characters at the first few levels.
Paladins are pretty challenging, but my friend said it best when he summed up how he plays his Paladin: "Just because I'm Lawful Good doesn't make me Lawful Stupid!"
After that little 'epiphany' our group was pretty much accepting of some 'borderline' behaviour from our resident do-gooder.
i Choose Ranger as it's basicly a dumbed-down fighter with a few spells really pointless.
