Well I used to play this like 10 years ago, but now I want to start again but I've forgotten somethings
Can anyone give me some advises???
I know that a deck is max 60 cards, and no more than 4 copies of a card. That I want to know is how many lands should I take???
I was thinking something about 15 lands and some ursas does it sound totally wrong or what??? please I really need some help on this
I believe deck size is now unlimited (or at least it was a few years ago), still only four copies of a card, and I usually find it good to take 20-25 lands per deck (bear in mind I play a multicolored deck), and if by ursas you mean Urza's Mine Tower etc. they're still as useful as they've ever been.I know that a deck is max 60 cards, and no more than 4 copies of a card. well i dont know if you know this but now you have to play type 2 if you play in tourneys. the card looks have changed and IMO they look crappy now, so i quit when they introduced them. if you play your friends i guess you could play integrated type 1&2, but its up to them. also if you buy boosters now they will all be type 2.
oh and it is a suggested deck size of 60. you can have more or less. i think the minimum is 40 or something like that. so you can have a 160 card deck and they cant technically complain that it is oversized... although that deck would probably stink because you would have so many different cards you wouldnt be able to draw what you needed. in my decks i had a minimum of 15 mana, mostly 20 or above mana decks because i used to have counter decks. although my green decks did have about that many mana... maybe it was all the high cost beasts? o well all i know is that my decks got results-- i hardly ever lost. ^_^

Oki thanks, there have been happend a lot since I last played then.
I think that we will play with max 60 cards rule..... so would about 25 lands be ok???
I'm not planning of playing any tournements.... yet
I'm just going to play with some friends - 1 new and 3 who haven't played it the last 4+ years
so I just think that we will play it as we remember it.
Anyway, any good deck I should make??? I was thinking of making a multicolourdeck blue/green or something like that, but I'm open for any advises you might have
For a 60 card deck, 20 mana will be more the sufficient. You should then be drawing mana every third phase, and should start with 2 mana. This is a good enough lead, and if you go for 25, you won't have as much of a variety of other cards.
If you don't plan to attend tournaments, go type 1, a basic mix of cards from any set. This is used just for casual games, I have a casual deck and my tournament deck, although I swear the casual deck is better :p .
On a good deck to use, that realy depends. With the new cards, spirit creatures have some amazing abilities. I believe they're overrated however, so I'd go a blue/green deck. The new snake cards are better then ever, with some cool abilites. They would be my suggestion, and they happen to be the deck I'm currently collecting.
Hope that helps,
Imdeed you did Taint
of a deck of 60 cards use 20 lands - sound logic it will statistic makes 1/3 chance of drawing mana and leave 40 cards to creatures, spells, ench.....
I'm glad that you like my idea with a blue/green deck, I love both colours - especialy counterspell, since one of my friends play red deck and it very spell based.
I remember onece I killed him with a counterspell - simply by turnig his fireball back at himself
Thanks very much
I always go with a basic of 20 lands. If your deck needs more or less(like an elf deck needs less because it can support itself) then change it from there. The min. deck size in tournies is 60 and unlimited max. I would suggest not going over 80 though.
Do you already have cards? If you don't, I could sell you mine.(Look in thread new player for more info)

ah yes blue green is a great combo. i mixed two of my decks one day cus i was bored, and minimized them to about 60 cards and got a blue green deck that worked quite well. i suggest spore frogs for the green part and counters to make up most of your blue. one counter that i find quite fun to use when you have more mana than your opponent is power sink. you tap as many mana as they have and they *i think* have to tap all their mana in an effort to counter your counter. confusing, but i havent played in a while. so yea you tap them out for that turn and if its their turn they cant do crap after that. ah i found my old deck. the power sink says that the spell is countered unless the caster spends x MORE mana. the caster must draw and spend all available mana from the mana pool and use them. if its not enough mana it is still countered. also i suggest putting at least one thorn elemental in the green part. 7/7 and can ignore defending creatures and attack the opponents health directly. quite handy for a 20 life game. 3 turn kill. oh yes and get some flying creatures in the blue part such as wind drakes, flying drakes and air elementals. ah and wall of vapors are quite good for blocking. they are 0/1, but as a special ability it turns any damage dealt to it by creatures it blocks to 0! ah its all coming back. if only i had friends who still play...
Type two cards? When were these released?
As for colours Black and Red. Black for creature destroyers and Red for direct damage. I like my mercenary deck but it's proably tournamnet illegal by now, not that i play them.
I have about 100 cards of each colour not included mana, the only thing I actually need is healing for my green and white decks, counter magic for my blue deck and drain life for my black deck else I think that I have what I need, I have a awfull lot of annoying cards witch have some weird but quite fun abilitiesOriginally Posted by aufde
