Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey fellow MTG players, I have always been a recreational player but it hink that i would like to try my hand in a couple of tournaments. The problem is I am a fourth edition (I think, Pre iceage) Player and i don not unserstand this Type one versus Type to stuff. Is there one among us knowledgable to explain this?
Agate's Theorem TM
Awesome + Awesome = Double Awesome
The ''types'' are different formats you can play with.
Type 1 or ''vintage''
this format allows you to play with cards form every sets asides for the list of banned and restircted cards.
Type 1.5 or ''eternal''
this format allows you again to play with cards from all the sets, but some cards are banned, there are no restirctions.
extended will try to include from now on the last 6-7 blocks ( a block is the main set and it'S 2 expensions) and the 3 latest ''editions'' ( like 9th or 8th for example) and some cards are banned (note that when Ravnika comes out, the sets allowed in extended will be merdacian mask and up.
Type 2 or ''standard'' this type uses the last 2 blocks ( currently kamigawa and mirrodin) and the latest edition ( 9th as of august 20th if I recall properly)
Hope this helps
