    Your favorite RPG setting?

Mine would have to be Post Apocolyptic. Ever since I read an old Gamma World rulebook as a child I've been in love with the setting. As a GM I've found it allows me to create a world that is instantly familiar to the players, while still giving me plenty of creative elbow room to have fun with.

As a player I've really enjoyed the survival aspects, the twisted takes on contemporary culture in an apocolyptic aftermath, and the over-all freshness of the setting in a genre dominated by Elves 'n Spells.

    Runequest? Aftermath? Call of C'thulhu?
Everything you have been told is a lie!

I would have to say WoW is my favorite world. Ive had allot of fun there and it has spawned some of the most memorable moments of any setting Ive played in to date.

We had ( and still have) in Sweden a game like GammaWorld but it's called Mutant and I agree about the post appocalytic setting's qualities. But then again I agree on Call of C'thulhu too, and Cult's (another swedish rpg) twisted version of contemporary Europe...and I'm an outright sucker for low-fantasy and Vampire Dark Ages as well as Masquerade... so...
I guess I don't really have any favourite setting, it all depends on my mood and the people I'm playing with. Though in all honesty when we (me and my RL friends) talk about RPGs (pen and paper Ghost, pen and paper -_< ) it seems like if our classical fantasy settings still have something special... Gah!!! I can't really tell... It's to hard cannot compute cannot compute

For the sheer volume of happy memories, I'd go with modern world plus twists - World of Darkness, Call of Cthulhu (particularly the 'Delta Green' version), Over The Edge.

But three other settings are also still in the race: Fading Suns, Amber and Nobilis.

White Wolf Games did a D&D 3.0 mod for WoW. Me and my friends got together and played it. Had some real good times running around as an orkish tinker. The campaign ended badly but I had grown so attached to the character that I later created a new campaign set 20 years later. The new campaign uses the new rulebooks written for 3.5 and is looking good.

My all-time favourite game would have to be Sengoku. It's just awesome

WoD comes a close second I think.

Then Stargate, just cos I love the show.

For my favourite setting I just have to with Trudvang - the latest world to Drakar ooch Demoner (swedish version of D&D). It has this mythical viking saga feel that you just love

Favourite game is Eon (another swedish fantasy RPG) and of course Call of Cthulhu and World of Darkness (jhavn't played the new one much though).

My favorite would be the Legend of the Five Rings world, set in a fictional world created from different elements of Far Eastern cultures. I'm not some anime fan-boy or anything (I actually think most anime is pretty terrible), but I've had some pretty memorable characters and stories in it.

D&D's Forgotten Realms got my time and money for years, back in 2nd edition... but I Do have to give a strong mark to Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear setting. It was Truly Awesome to play! I loved it and only wish I could do some more ;)
