    Inquisition Storm Trooper Sergeant

OK...I've always wondered why there has never been a special character to replace a Storm Trooper Sergeant...I like the sound of the Idea and thin there should be on. After read around teh Daemon Hunter forums, it appears that I am not alone, so until Games Workshop throws one in the next codex (if at all), I've decided to do this for those players that both want one and will be allowed to use them for some reason or another:

    Veteran Sergeant Rombus Grande

Rombus Grande started his career as a Guardsman in the Cadian VIII. Proving himself as a capable soldier on many occasions, he was quickly sent to the Schola Progenium Where he was trained as a Storm Trooper, and graduated at the top of his class. Showing great skill and leadership, the Inquisition was quick to recruit him. He was given the rank of Sergeant and given his own squad of men. Rombus proved himself to the Inquisition many times, where many others would have failed, showing great courage where others would have run. As such, Rombus is a great asset to the Inquisition and is highly regarded by his peers.

Rombus Grande may be used in any “Inquisition” army. If used he replaces a Storm Trooper Sergeant and must be used exactly as described below (you know the drill, no extra equipment for him!). Only 1 Rombus can be used (obviously).

    Points: ???

    WS: 4
    BS: 5
    S: 3
    T: 3
    W: 3
    I: 4
    A: 3
    Ld: 9
    Sv: 4+

    Unit Type: Infantry

Wargear: Fire Storm, Power Weapon, , Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades, Refractor field.

Fires Storm: This weapon was taken off one of Rombus’ dead enemies at the end of a civil war that erupted between Chaos Cultists and the PDF on the planet Correlin II. While at first it seems like any other Laspistol, upon closer inspection it would seem that some alien technology has turned this into a rather powerful weapon. Firestorm uses the same Power Packs as all other Laspistol, but upon firing, the weapon increases the amount of energy fired – how this is done is unknown.

Range: 12” S: 4 AP: 4 Notes: Pistol, Ignores Invulnerable saves.

    Special Rules: Infiltrate, Scouts.

Squad Equipment: Rombus gives the rest of his squad Krak Grenades for free, though the squad may not buy Melta Bombs. The rest of the squad can purchase Special Weapons as normal.

Scouts: See the rulebook for details. Rombus confers the Scouts rule to the rest of his squad. The squad may only use the Scouts rule if they do not have a transport.

Infiltrate: See the rule book for details. Rombus confers the Infiltrate rule to the rest of his squad. The squad may only use the Infiltrate rule if they do not have a transport.

Transport: Rombus and his squad may chooose to ride into battle in a Rhino APC. See the Daemon Hunters or Witch Hunters Codex for deatails and points costs.

So what do people think, further to this, how many points do you think he's worth? I was thinking between 110 and 120 points, though I leave this up to you guys to decide.

    Cheers,
    Scott

I likes, it's not too great ("and then he went on to become a space marine chapter lord and killing a c'tan, all in his first year!") So it's good!

Im not too sure any inquisitor would be too keen on him keeping hold of alien technology (he would be killed for thinking of doing it by some and others would take it off him).

Very true, but not unheard of methinks...

Anyone else agree? If so, I'm sure I can change it.

Well, isn't there a bit of wargear in 1 of the inq codexes which says it was made for the emperium by aliens? A digital laser or something?

It all depends on the inquisitor involved. Its all based on there views and stuff. Some inquisitors are very hardline, they believe the imperium should kill off everything else and disregard there stuff as heresy, others believe we should study them and help us advances, others think we can use aliens to our advantage (greater good).

If you say in his fluff he works for a slightly wayward ordo xenos inquisitor then it would be ok. Perhaps hes not exactly a storm trooper sergeant, hes more of the inquisitors master of weapons or somthing and he takes his own speacialist team into battle with him.

It gives him more of a real ability to get hold of such a weapon. If he is just a sergeant then he would get what hes given and nothing else. Being the inquisitors whatever, it allows him a bit more freedom. Anyone read the eisenhorn trilorgy?
