    Codex: Adeptus Arbites

I know there was never an official one, but does anyone know of one?? I've tried searching a few places but I'm at work atm so my internet access is limited. I'm thinking of doing a small arbites army, around 600pts, so mainly need to know what it is they use. I know chimeras and rhinos, but what else other than that??

So just wondering if anyone knows of a house rules dex or something of the sort. Hope this was the right place to post.

    Here is another.

But if you just want to know what they use, and are not necessarily looking for house rules then I can just post it right now (well, what I know of at least).
    Vehicles, besides Chimeras and Rhinos:
    -Repressors
-Leman Russ - Mainly the standard kind, I believe, but it doesn't seem too stretched to include Conquerors and Exterminators. Demolishers, Vanquishers, etc. are probably a no.
    -Bikes
-Various other vehicles like ground cars, probably some armored cars too, helicopters (or equivs), etc.
    These are sort of iffy:
-Sentinels - they seem reasonable, but I can't guarantee it. People like to include these in house codices though.
-Land Speeders - according to Dan Abnett (in Eisenhorn, specifically Xenos); but they're probably a bit different from the SM type.

    I'm a big fan of Shammus's.

I've been into Arbites for a while but every fan codex feels like kroot mercs. Just some stuff slapped together that can't really be made into a fully functional army. His isn't perfect, but it has all the major ideas presented in a balanced way and you could make something competetive out of it. I would just add sentinels.

Here I found a nice and BIG arbitres army. Might serve as an inspiration.

As far as I know the arbitres appeared as models in first edition already. I found arbitres as support units for IG in the 2nd edition Black Codex. Maybe you should havea look there (if you're lucky to find 1st and 2nd edition tomes).

Thanks bro, thats a nice thing to hear
What would you suggest I give sentinals as weapons options, cause I don't want them to have the same stuff as IG. Maybe...heavy webbers, water cannons, TL-heavy stubbers and double TL-Arbite grenade launchers?

Wow, this thread is great! I've done some searching of my own in the past, but the only pdf codex I found was the black and white one with the giant eagle on the front, listed above. I'll have to take a closer look at the Bell of Lost Souls dex when I get home - that one looks really well done!

I'm just doing the finishing touches to a ~1000pt Arbiters army - but I move pretty slowly, so it'll probably take all spring to truly finish.

I like to look at unofficial codexes for inspiration, but I field my arbiters by using the Witch Hunters codex. That way I don't feel like I'm somehow cheating. I basically use Inquisitors and Inq Lords as Provosts/Judges/Marshals, and then servitors and stormtroopers as arbiters. And, of course, there's a cyber mastiff that counts as a familiar for my Inq Lord.

I'm also still finishing up a "Castigator Armored Truck", which'll use the Exorcist rules. And I think that maybe I'll need to get a few of those new Scout Bikes.... oooh, the possibilities...

Basically, I think the weapons/equipment available to a fluffy Arbiters force would be:
    - shotguns. there's gotta be some shotguns.
    - autoguns, lasguns, hellguns, and grenade launchers are common.
    - webbers are a classic, as are water cannons - these could possibly follow the rules for plasma and flamers, respectively? You could simply say that casualties aren't necessarily dead, just "out of action"...
    - light vehicles, such as sentinels, armored trucks, and light tanks are definitely possible.
    - and, bikes are pretty fluffy too.
    - finally, human statlines and not-really-great armor sv's fit the fluff, so guardsmen, stormies and servitors fill the part nicely.

I would suggest reading through the imperial guard, witch hunter, and daemon hunter codexes, as possible bases for an arbiters army.

EDIT: oh, and snipers fit the fluff, too. I field a sniper team and count them as a vindicare, I just say the spotter represents the vindi's extra wound.
    - power mauls and riot shields are also trademarks.
