Okay, I've done it.... I've finally put together a set of rules for a Kroot transport... Here's the fluffy reasons why, and the rules follow....:
Some Kroot Mercenary bands have fed so much so on the Ork race, that they have aqcuired a sense of how to develop Ork-Teknology. These Mercenary bands have been known to use Wartrukk-like vehicles, to transport certain important aspects of thier armies. The vehicles bear a striking resemblense (Yes I can't spell! ) to the Wartrukks, with slight modifications due to the Kroot's jungle-based nature.
Kroot Hunting Vehicle
Cost: 50 points
F: 10 S: 10 R:10 BS: 3
Weapons: Kroot Gun
Transport: The Kroot Hunting Vehicle may transport up to ten Kroot. It may NOT transport units
with the Hyperactive Nyume upgrade, wings, or any unit containing Krootox, Kroot hounds, or Knarloc riders (including Kroot Trackers). Also, models armed with Kroot Hunting Rifles do NOT count as moving when firing from the Kroot Hunting Vehicle (they are adept at sniping units from their own construct).
Options: The Kroot Hunting vehicle may be fielded in two seperate ways. It may given to any unit as a transport option (Following the above Transport restrictions). Or, it may fielded as a unit on its own in which 3-5 vehicles make up a single 0-1 Fast Attack choice. If taken on thier own, they do NOT have to keep within coherency, and may transport any unit in the Kroot army (following the restrictions above), and are not restricted to one "parent" unit. Also, if taken on their own, one hunting vehicle MUST be upgraded to a Hunter Shaper Vehicle for free.
Fieldcraft: Due to its drivers' knowledge of the Jungle growth, the Kroot Hunting Vehicle benefits from the fieldcraft special rule, and therefore does not need to test for accidents when moving through Woods or Jungles. Note that it does NOT benefit from the 4+ cover save.
Hunter Shaper Vehicle: When fielded on thier own, Kroot Hunting Vehicles are operated by a single Kindred, which is led by a Shaper as normal. The Shaper's vehicle fires at +1 BS and MUST select a weapon-fit from the following list: Meltagun at +10 points, Plasma Gun at +10 points, Flamer at +6 points, or a Kroot Gun at +5 points.
Kroot Gun: Range-48" S:7 AP:4 Type:Rapid Fire Special: None
Meltagun: Range-12" S:8 AP:1 Type:Assaul 1 Special: 2D6 Armor Penetration within 6"
Plasma Gun: Range-24" S:7 AP:2 Type:Rapid Fire Special: Gets Hot
Flamer: Range: Template S:4 AP:5 Type:Assault 1 Special: None
So there you have it! The rules for my Kroot Hunting Vehicle! I'm planning to convert a squad of four very soon. Just gonna use a wartrukk with a Krootox rider gunner and a converted Carnivore as the Driver. I was also thinking of some Vehicle upgrades, but haven't come up with any yet... anybody got any suggestions? Well, let me know what you guys think!

Well, I thinks its pretty cheap in points considering how usefukl it would be in a kroot army. Also the kroot hunting gun is too powerfull. It seems like its just an overpowered answer to the Kroots poor tank hunting equipment.
Maybe up the cost to 50 and give the shaper truck +1 BS and a choice of Meltagun, plasma gun or heavy flamer for a cost of +10 points (since you lose the kroot gun). I think its a good idea though. Kroot do need transports desperatly.

Okay.... I've modified the post above, thanks for the tips Spike! It was a little cheap, and i couldn't think of anything to use for the Shaper vehicle, so thanks for the input!
Much better. The only thing I can point out now is that the shaper comes free, so gets the +1 BS without having to purchase any weapons. Have it so the shaper must take a weapon option, or have a Kroot gun at +5 points. Also, thinking about it now, the flamer should only be +6 as it does not benifit from the +1 BS.

I'm already seing deltaforce or wwII-SAS like buggies with camonetting etc. (hurries off to dig out old orcbuggy)
Yea that's a question that i got too, anybody know where i can get Camo netting, or something to use as it? I was thinking of just using some bits of thick string and tying down bitz of foliage to the Hunting Vehicles, but netting would be cool too... :ph34r:
Camonetting is easy - just get some medicalgauze (Ithink thats what it's called) soak it in dilluted pva-glue and wrap it in the shape you want, then paint it.
I think part of what makes Kroot Kroot is that they dont use transports and keep their technology to a minimum, but thats just my opinion.
