I was recently playing a campain using a Bretonnian Paladin and basically he came out of it incredibly overpowered and with far to much wargear.Anyway, in my fluff he's a half vampire ( or at least he will be soon) so I added some special rules on. Anyway, my prize for winning was to get to use him in normal battles.I would like him to be around 370 points.I have some general ideas of what to change but I would really apreciate some advice.

The lance of Artwois
Gromril great helm
Gauntlet of the duel
Virtue of Confidence
Mantle of damsel Elena
Bretonnian barbed Warhorse
special rules:the knights vow
suggested special rules:
Blood hunger: Each of your turns roll a D6.On a roll of 3+ the character is not subject to frenzy for that turn.If he fails that roll and there are no enemies in charge range, he must charge the nearest friendly unit if within charge range and line of sight.
Lone hunter:The character may never join units. He may not be deployed within 12 inches of a friendly model.(This is the sort of feel I would like my guy to have.As a result,I think he needs to be quite hard to kill)

simplebut, remove those stats. It's against forum rules and is copyright infringement.
Spambot kill tally. . .337
really? Its not the stats of any existing unit just one thats been improved. There is no way to tell what the stats were before modifiers. You seem to know what your doing so i'll take them off for now and take a closer look at the forum rules.Sorry in advance if I posted illegally.
Rabbit - we can post stats of characters we are creating no? I have seem hundreds of examples in other parts of the forum...
Anyway, back to the question...
TBH a Bretonnian Paladin is an "Average" hero in the grand scheme of things, and making him Vampiresque would be akin to making him more like say a Chaos hero. In which case, why not use the profile for a Chaos hero? That way you can use roughly the same points (adding a premium as Bretonnian army has other benefits vs Chaos like Bretonnian steeds, vows, virtues etc).
If you mark him as Frenzied, but then add a special rule that he must resist being frenzied each turn as he seeks to control the inner beast, and then use the Blood Hunger to make it that he must attack friendly units if he cannot charge a foe, and is frnezied, then you have a nice balance.
Kithre thats an awesome idea! rep for you. What would you think about giving him some vampiric powers.I was thinking about aura of dark majesty and armour of night. To counter that, Maybe I could replace the lance of artwois with a normal lance and take out the mantle of damsel elena? As for making him a chaos hero, I ve got my stats from a campain and would like to keep them roughly the same as they were. That way, I can actually tell people how he got to be toughness 7. (By owning a exalted champion of chaos without taking a wound and bringing down a geared up uber-vampire ect.

Aura and Armour of the Night are good ideas. However, I meant using points values and profiles of a Chaos hero, ratehr than actually making him a Chaos hero. That way you can base your "fair value" off of an "uber-human" which would go someway between being a Vampire and a mortal man, as a Chaos warrior is fuelled by supernatural power and gifts (Chaos mutations, enhanced armour, better combat skills, strength, toughness etc).
I would take out the lance of artois anyway, and perhaps allow him to take a single use bound spell, say the Flaming Swords of Rhin?
ok guys I've taken Kithre's concept but based the value off a vampire lord. He's got no magic but I have upgraded his stats to conpensate.Ive added the prices of wargear on.

wargear:Gromril great helm,holy icon,aura of dark majesty,armour of night,gauntlet of the duel,lance,shield,bretonnian warhorse,virtue of confidence
blood hunger: each turn roll 2d6+the number of kills he's made. Note A double 1 always fails. If he does not get 12 or more he must charge the nearest unit and becomes subject to red fury.If he cannot charge any unit roll a scatter dice to see where he goes.If the goes of the board he counts as dead.
Lone hunter:He may not join units

If your character comes from a WFB role-playing game campaign, you should know that although the game seems compatible with WFB the wargame, it really isn't.
A GIANT is S6, so no human, no matter how vampiric he is.
The idea of using chaos lord stats are much better, and if he becomes vampiric, your character should lose bretonnian items described as holy or blessed by the lady of the lake, as they would probably burn him.
Simlarly, only martial virtues should still be allowed, but anything received by the will of the lady of the lake would look very funky on an undead.
"Politics is the womb in which war develops"
I think that the item names should be renamed, as this is YOUR special character, and the attributes should be basically part of him, so it makes it less liek you have cut and paste from the two books.
I also tend to agree on S6/T6 - human-sized models shouldn't really be BASE S6. Given that Chaos Lords are base S and toughness 5, this would probably be the limit of the human frame.
However, I like the feel, som more fluff would be appropriate, mayhaps a short story (probably post this on teh WHFB fluff thread)
