    Warhammer 40k deepstrike

    Hello, quick 40k rules issue...

Last game i played with my friends, a deepstrike scattered so that half of the model was on normal ground, and half was in a building, that had an open top floor, but the bottom floor was impassible terrain. I'm assumming it would be a mishap, expecially since the remaining squad members could not fit in a circle around the model (terminators in this case), but we ended up having an argument about it. What would you do?

Can assault troops land on the roof without having to make a difficult terrain check?

If they can, then you can deepstrike to that as well... Better make sure that all the Marines can stand on the roof somehow though. And must be in a perimeter around the drop pod./

If Assault troops have to make a difficult terrain check, then yes it would be a mishap.

Since they had to break consistency (by a lot!) I would go with the mishap table.

So basically we sit at this for how to play that situation.

    A) If Assault jump troops don't need to make a difficult terrain check to land on the roof, the drop pod may land there and all are safe if the following is true.

If the troops can exit the drop pod and remain in the proper coherency, the troops are safe.

Any other outcome is a mishap roll.

It just sounds like he doesn't want your drop pod landing on rooftops. But as stated, if Jump troops can, why not a drop pod? Drop Pods have thrusters to slow their decent. Otherwise they would create a crater themself, and be in difficult terrain because of landing.

    Thanks

Ya in the end we've decided it was a mishap, because either way the models couldn't fit around the perimieter of the main base. Thanks for all your opinions!
