I once drew a centauroid Titan for the Eldar, with a heat lance, mono-molecular star lance and dragon-like armour, with a Tempest laser turret on the back for defence in teh rear arc, and a power blade on a flexible tail
The Star Dragon is the mightiest engine of Vaul a Craftworld can field. It surpasses the Phantom titans for size, and can only be grown from heat refracting wraithbone impregnated with minerals extracted from a few maiden worlds, which are, fortunately for the enemies of the Eldar, extremely rare, and normally reserved for creating the massive star ships of the Craftworld space fleets.
The Star Dragon forms an extension of the Infinity Circuit invariably populated with Exarchs of teh Fire Dragon Temple, indeed the creature differs from its brotehrs and sisters in that its crew are all active members of the Fire Dragon Temple, rather than the close knit families that operate the Phantoms.
When a Craft World goes to war, and the Avatar is awakened, some of the guardians of the Fire Dragon temple will fight the urge to join this embodiment of wanton destruction, and will instead immerse themselves in the company of the great heroes of their Path, and will take to battle instead riding the potent Star Dragon construct.
The Star Dragon is heavily armoured with a form of wraithbone which can even withstand heat blasts from the massive melta weapons carried by Imperial battle titans. The wraithbone disspiates the heat very efficiently, in fact it even extracts power for the massive heat lance weapon to riposte with the fury of a star...
The form of the Star Dragon Titan is different to most Eldar war machines, resembling the Knights used by some more primitive Eldar forces.
The Titan has a massive upper torso, similar in size to the Phantom and Warlock Titans, but crafted to echo the mythical Dragon of Eldar legend, with sweeping wings mounting deadly point defence armament and a snarling maw protecting the viewport. The primary armament is a deadly heat lance, a massive version of the fire pike used by Fire Dragon Exarchs, and the deadly starlance, which has a monomolecular tip protected by a bliding powerfield, and used to skewer enemy war engines or pierce the shields of fortifications.
Instead of the traditional hip joints and bipedal stance, the Star Dragon resembles a massive centaur, with a sturdy body which protects the fusion reactor, and massive taloned hooves, propelling the war mahcine forwards like a titanic destrier, crushing lesser enemies underfoot.
At the end of the body, a whip-lash tail sweeps behind the titan, and ends in a monomolecular edged power-blade, which can cleave tanks in two and bat infantry hundreds of feet when it strikes. The titan also mounts a rear-facing Cobra super-heavy turret that adds its weight of fire against enemies seeking to outflank or envelop the Star Dragon.
I am proposing a heavy Titan with a faster speed than a Phantom (having 4 legs helps stability), a melta-type titan-killer weapon, and a titan-killer "first strike" weapon used on the charge. As I do not have Apoc, only an active imagination, I would request assistance.
I forsee it having AV12 like most other Eldar stuff, but immune to bonuses from melta attacks etc, and have a Holo field to protect it from attacks. 4 structure points would be viable, and it would mount the Cobra turbo-lasers on a turrent behind the main body, facing backwards with fire arcs in the rear 180 degrees of the titan. It would also have a power blade which should be a strength D weapon attack, maybe all enemies within 3" of teh rear of the titan would get hit on a 4+?
Great story, well written, very literary.
But AV12, isn't that a kinda low? And i believe titans work in a different manner than AV. Sure someone can help you a bit more than me on that.
And the rear facing gun, i can't picture that... wouldn't that be a bit... odd? Why have a rear facing weapon when you can have a turret and also use the weapon to shoot forward. You could have the gun like the buckle on a belt strapped around his waist. That way it could circle round his bulk, so on top, to the side and under his belly. That way it could fire around the tail and be more useful.

Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Titans work in AV, and I think the Eldar Revenant (the only official rules Eldar Titan) has AV12/12/12, although I may be wrong. The Revenant would in theory also be MUCH smaller than the thing you're talking about.
The difference with super-heavy Vehicles like Titans is that they have several structure points, all of which need to be destroyed before the titan itself is removed.
The problem I had to reconcile was that a turret wouldn't really be able to fit onto the torso of say a Phantom Titan, and i see this as really a centauroid evolution of a Phantom titan, with the turret really as a rear 3/4 defence weapon, flush with the top of the body.
Given that the main weaponry would be more than adequate in the frontal section, I was envisaging the main threats being attacks from out flankers or rear assaults, as the titan wouldn't be able to bring its main armament, wing batteries or head-mounted flame thrower to bear.
I DO have an ide of what the Adeptus Titanicus version of the beastie would look:
Head - Flamestorm flame thrower
Wing 1 - holo projector
Wing 2 - holo projector
Shoulder 1 - wing missile launcher
shoulder 2 - wing bright lance battery
Arm 1 - mono-filament lance
Arm 2 - Mega, Long firepike melta weapon
Centre torso - none
Wing holo projector
Base Close assault factor = +10 - Imperial Warlors were +12
The armaments would be roughly analogous to the following - Mega Firepike = Melta cannon on Warlord Battle Titans but longer ranged and more focussed firepower, Missile launchers and lascannon/lance = wing weaponry on Eldar titans, Scoprion laser = tempest lasers from the old space marine
Tail weapon = + 2 to close assault factor (included on existing score) - enemies attacking from rear subtract 1 from dice roll
Mono-filament lance = adds +D6 to CAF when attacking Super Heavy or Titan class enemies, against titans, automatically score a critical hit against a targetted location if you win the combat

so cool but a titan for eldar. i didnt know they had on. i thought they use a super heavy skimmer. still sounds cool in any case.
I am an Indestructible master of War.
Eldar had Itans before the Imperium - they have three classes at present - Revenant scout Titans, Phantom battle Titans and Warlock battle Titans (which are really a "psychic attack" version of the Phantom)
Eldar titans have layers of holo fields and sweet f%*k all armour ...
