    Gargoyle rules request

    Could I bother you fine gentlemen for a favour?

    Bacically, I wanna make a very fast, CC oriented Tyranid force. One of the main things I want to include is a brood of gargoyles with scything tallons. I know (i've been told) that there is no option to give gargoyles tallons but I think it makes much more sence than them having guns. Since I don't have the codex yet, could someone do a quick mockup of a statline for some scythed gargoyles. Points cost would be helpful too.

    sure dude- i assume you have old nid dex- take your typical hormagaunt list entry, and make it jump infantry, 7 points, can take Adrenal Glands+1, and or Toxin Sacs +1- not sure about posting the rules for those biomorphs though, they have changed- been simplified

    So... bacically old homogaunts + 7 points = stabby gargoyles? Hmm... I'm getting the dex pretty soon anyway... we'll see what I'll come up with. Thanks anyway!

    With JUST scything talons? Looking at the change in a technical sense, the model is giving up a single S4 ranged attack for an additional S3 close combat attack with re-rolling 1s. That sounds like the cost will stay the same, and I know I wouldn't have a problem playing against that unit at all. Like you said, it seems like an obvious choice that better fits the theme of the army.

    So, are you saying it might be a bad choice on my part? As the guy before said, I'd probly have to give them adrenal glands and toxic sacs to make them effective. The main reason (other than keeping in theme with the army) was... HOW COOL WOULD IT BE FOR SOME SPINY, STABBY TO ALIEN FLY DOWN AND STAB A IPERIAL GAURDSMAN RIGHT IN THE CHEST AND THEN SEND ALL THE OTHER GAURDSMEN FLEEING FOR THEIR LIVES!!!!!

    Very, is the correct answer.

    sorry dude i confused you- hormagaunts are no longer what were they i dont remember anymore :/ 12 points? they are now 6 , and the new goyle is 6, but because the goyle is 1 point more than term, i added 1 point to base for horm- 6+1=7 points for flying hormagaut

    OOOOHHHH... So you're saying, 7 points for a flying hormogaunt, not a stabby gargoyle. I see now...

    So I'm keeping the hormogaunt's statline? Or is it different?

    Well the Gargoyle is essentialy a flying Termagaunt, so I just created a flying Hormagaunt. So yes, the stats are the same, only difference really is Jump Infantry- oh I forgot -- they also have a Blinding Acid rule, kinda like a modified Rending, but affecting the to hit roll.

    I was saying:
    A. It's a good idea.
    B. Keep the points the same.
    C. Don't change the unit's profile except for:
    - 1. Take away the gun.
    - 2. Give it A2 and scything talons.

    Simple as that really.
