Thunderhead Bike Assault Force
POINTS: 100 + MODELS
A large formation of Space Marine bikes is an ideal force to harass less mobile enemy units, able to sweep in heralded by a storm of gunfire, smash into the enemy with a devastating assault, then disengage, ready to repeat the manoeuvre against any other foes in the area. This repeated fire-charge-withdraw routine is laid down in the Codex Astartes as a powerful tactic which does not allow the enemy a chance to recover, and is a recognised method to deny an area of the battlefield to an opponent, keeping them off-balance and disorganised until other elements of the Space Marine force can advance to capitalise on the gains made by the bike squads. It is a tactic used to devastating effect by the 6th Company of most Codex Chapters, who can be fielded entirely as bike squadrons, or those Space Marine chapters who display a predilection towards bike-mounted warfare, such as the White Scars or the Promethean Lancers.

Strike Force: All vehicles in a Bike Assault Force must be deployed within 12" of the Space Marine Captain, or if coming on from reserve, the formation must enter the table within 12" of the point entered by the Captain.
Objective Denial: The owning player must pick one objective after deployment but before the game begins. For the rest of the game the Bike Assault Force may re-roll any to-wound rolls (or rolls to penetrate armour) in the shooting phase against any enemy forces within 6" of this objective.
Stay on Target!: Units in the Assault Force have the Hit And Run universal special rule.
"Use your Bike squads as a blade, striking the enemy and turning aside his counter-blows in equal measure. But in all things beware that speed is nothing without direction, just as even the mightiest weapon is worthless without careful aim. A biker's stance should always be resolute and dauntless, but never immobile or rigid. Speed is his advantage and surprise his deadliest weapon. In fluidity he will find success, and in success shall he find renown." -Roboute Guilliman
This special rule will mostly go to waste, the twin-linked bolters on a bike re-roll to hit anyway. The owning player must pick one objective after deployment but before the game begins. For the rest of the game the Bike Assault Force may re-roll any to-hit rolls in the shooting phase against any enemy forces within 6" of this objective.
Maybe make it re-roll to wound?
In the 41st millenium there is no such thing as paranoia, the universe realy is out to get you!
A very good point which I had entirely overlooked! I will make the amendment, cheers for pointing out my (in hidnsight) obvious mistake!
