Way back when Rogue trader was out they did a comprehensive Genestealer Cults list. Does anyone know of someone who has done a current 5ed version that could be used for house rules games?
If not I might have to look into putting something together![]()

A form of Genestealer cult could be constructed using the adversaries units from the defunct Witch Hunters codex and genestealers from the nid dex, with the rogue psyker or apostate cardinal as a magus and mutants as hybrids. But it's outdated and extremely underpowered beyond the occasional amusing puppet dance - though you can take literally dozens of scoring units.

I had someone put me onto this but I haven't had time to read yet

There's a fellow on Warseer with a cunning plan to use Genestealer Hybrids and associated models as Tyranids in a list composed form their codex. Here it is:
Shadow Over Grimdark Innsmouth - A Genestealer Cult Log
Read the ideas for the unit/model types. Real genius at work there, I think.

Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank and he can rob the world.

I like that it works really well. Also here's the non broken link

Could be interesting though the issue with Genestealer cult even back from 2nd edition days when it was a viable army was that it lacked any kind of diversity. Good hand to hand abilities, light weapons and no vehicles. Maybe using a genestealer cult in like 500pt game might be okay but at the 2000pt level I don't see how you could possibly field anything that could work....
That with 6th edition allies, you could flush it out with Tyranids... though for the point cost equivelent tyranid units would fare better than the cult units anyways... So it really would just be a fluff army.
