    Custom Terrain Rules, FB

    Hi

Me and a mate of mine play a lot of battles against each other, we recently tried to get another friend into warhammer. He went out and got the Batalion box set for Empire. After a couple of weeks he got bored of it and left the country(not necessarily related events). As a result we gained a glued batallion Empire boxset. Neither of us wanted to play this army so we've meshed it into the terrain. The center piece of which is a smoldering pile of dead rotten Empire troops.

Here's the current draft of the custom rules for this terrain. Any opinions or suggestions welcome, does it seem balanced enough for positives and negatives etc...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rules for Mysterious Smouldering Empire Troops Terrain
After placing the terrain roll a D6:

    Roll of a 1 or 2
At the start of a magic phase roll a dice for every model within 6 inches on the pile [Except wizards or sorceress’].

On a roll of a 1 the model takes a wound and any wizard or sorceress within 6 inches gains +1 to cast for that phase, as the burning pile sucks in their life force and the wizard absorbs this power!

    Roll of a 3 or 4
The horrific smell of the burning rotten Empire troops causes any unit coming within 6 inches to collapse in disgust and vomit uncontrollably.

If a unit passes within 6 inches of the pile then it must pass a leadership test or stop at the point it came within 6 inches, the strong leadership will rally the troops and get them to suck it up and carry on. On the next turn the unit can move as normal (we assume they’ve emptied they’ve stomachs at this point and just want to leave)

    Roll of a 5 or 6
The pile of burning bodies can be a driving source for an army to continue for revenge or glory, or strike terror in the heart of others.
When a unit stops within 6 inches of the pile they roll a D6, on the roll of a 4+ the burning pile of empire troops gives them a bloodthirsty hunger for death, spurring them on. They may immediately make an additional move (not march or charge however)

On the roll of a 3- the unit is so horrified by this sight of sheer carnage and brutality they must take a terror check. (The terror is caused by the terrain, so if failed they flee directly away fro this)

In all cases the pile counts as hard cover, with the dead bodies absorbing most ranged attacks

I like this, it's very creative.

On a roll of 4+, what if any unit within 6 inches became frenzied untill they leave the six inch zone? Also, to compensate for the high risk of fleeing, maybe a unit who flees into the 6 inch zone rolls a D6. On a roll of 1-3 they continue to flee as normal, but on a roll of 4-6, they rally immediately and become subject to frenzy.

    Just a suggestion.
