As some of you will have read, I'm planning on constructing a 40K scale Imperator titan.

I'm currently busy with writhing the rules for it, the rules posted below are what i have been able to writhe sofar and they are still experimental.
I have included a point cost as I'm still bust with calculating but i estimate it at roud 6000pts.

So enjoy your read and let me know what you think of them.
If you are going to comment please make it constructive cause it is very difficyult to convert the rules from epic to 40K

Rules for fielding an Imperator titan in 40K

History of the abomination know as “Deus Mortem

The “Deus Mortem is a terrifying weapon to behold, towering above any other Titan it might face on the battlefield.
Nothing is more tarrying for an imperial titan crew than come face to face with a chaos Imperator titan as these monstrous will destroy entire cities just for the pleasure of destruction.
Currently there is little information regarding the “Deus Mortem and how it was created.
Originally an Imperator titan in service of the Legio Mortis before the Horus Heresy, it turned against the Imperium it was supposed to protect, when the forces of Horus fled to the Eye of Terror, these monstrous titans were taken with them.

Nobody knows how exactly it came into service of the Warsmith known as Dreachon.
Most adepts believe that it must have been captured after being severely damaged and rendered off-line.
I has also been considerably been rebuild, apparently to more useful in the siege warfare that the IW specialise in.

It still maintains the Imperators primary weapons, however the fortress mounted demolisher cannon has been replaced by a massive Quake cannon, apparently this has been incorporated to crack even the most powerful bunkers before disembarking the troops inside.
The tower mounted battle cannons seem to have been replaced by flak turrets similar to those on the Hydra flak tank, providing it with considerable air defence when it advances on it’s target.
Instead of the defence laser which is mounted on the rear of the Imperator it is equipped with 2 mortars usually found on the Bombard.

All in all, it appears to have been rebuild to act as a massive siege tower from which the Iron warriors will make the assault on a enemy fortress, coupled with the awesome firepower of the “Deus Mortem makes sure that little will be left when the storming parties are released and it can hold it’s own against anything the enemy can throw at it.

    Points Front14 Side14 Rear14 BS4

    Type: Tank
    Size: War-engine
    Structure points: 18
    Voidshields: 12

    “Deus Mortem Imperator weapons.

Imperator Titans mount some of the most feared weapons in the Imperium.

    Primary Weapons:

Left arm is equipped with a Plasma Annihilator, right arm is equipped with a Hellstorm Cannon.
The fortress is equipped with a Quake Cannon, 4 Hydra Flak turrets ( 1 in each tower ) and 2 Bombard mortars.

    Secondary weapons:

1 twin-linked Heavy Bolter in each bastion, 4 Twin-linked Heavy Bolters on the upper fortress and 1 twin-linked Lascannon on each side of the Fortress.

    “Deus Mortem Imperator options.

    Special rules.

There are a lot of special rules for when it comes to concerning fielding one of these behemoths on the battlefield.
You should let your opponent know in advance that you are going to field a Imperator titan as they are going to need all the help they can get when facing it.
Also the best place to field it is on an either really really really big table or you backyard.

    Imperator Movement

Lumbering: The Imperator may move up to 12a turn, it may only move in a straight ahead, but it can pivot up to 90 degree at the end of it’s turn.

Moving over obstacles: The Imperator may step over any vehicle, unit, war-engine or obstacle that is lower than the Imperators knees.
Any vehicle that is stepped over is removed immediately ( don’t expect to survive a 2000ton foot stepping on ya! ), fast vehicles or skimmers ( excluding the monolith as it is to slow ) receive a 3+ dodge save to represent them for dodging just out of the way.
Smaller war engines take a Str10 hit and roll on the Ord. Damage chart because of the huge weight of the Imperator titan they loose D6 structure points.
Normal models without mass points are killed instantly, no need to save them.

Imperator tank shock: Enemy infantry that is tank shocked by an Imperator titan ( a very unpleasant experience ) will fail the test automatically ( no experience or nerves of steel will help when a 50m tall Titan is about to step on you ).

Difficult Terrain: unlike many other war-engines there is no difficult terrain for a titan that size, the only terrain that can pose a hazards are destroyed titans or very large mountains, should these be present on the table ( or backyard ) the Titan will move D6 slower.

    Imperator Titan in close combat.

Imperator Titans are so large that most vehicles and super heavy vehicles are unable to even scratch them in close combat.
The imperator in invulnerable to close combat attacks from non-Titan units.

    Imperator Titan weapons

    Weapons Stats

    Plasma Annihilator

    Range: 24 – 180 Str: 10 AP: 2 Special: Ordnance / Mega Blast / Titan-killer.

    Hellstorm Cannon

    Range: 24 – 180 Str: 8 AP: 3 Special: Heavy/10 Blast

    Quake Cannon

    Range: 36 – 72 Str: 9 AP: 2 Special: Ordnance / Massive blast / Titan-killer

Hydra Flak turret ( counts as 2 twin-linked long barrelled autocannons on an AA mount )

    Range: 12 – 72 Str: 7 AP: 4 Special: Heavy/2, AA mount

Note: The flak turret are mounted so high on the fortress that it is impossible for them to be fired at small targets on the ground, they may only fire at aircrafts and other titans.

    Targeting

Instead of picking 1 target for the Imperator, pick a target for each of it’s own weapons

The CC rules are annoying. Make it still be vulnerable in CC, so a few brave troops can weather the storm of gunfire until they get inside the minimum range of its guns, then swarm up to it and hit something valuable to bring it down. Otherwise... Watch out for a Mega-Gargant!

it is gonna get extra rules for cc, troops can still use items like meltabombs, but the reason for it beeing given this as an example a genestealer hits it, scores a pwenetrating hit and destroys the Plasma Annihilator which hangs more than 30m above it's head :glare: would make it a bit too unreal

besides the rules are by no way even final

Its a bit over the top IMHO.

I don't know the current rules for Warhounds, but Eldar Revenants are the most agile titans in the galaxy and they only get one attack in HTH. Infantry can see an Imperator coming from miles away- they aren't exactly going to stand still and let themselves get stomped on. At best it should only have the same CC rules as the Eldar Revenant, but with a strength of 10.

Likewise, the "no HTH damage" rules are too much. The whole idea of structure points is to make sure that these superheavy leviathans can't be brought down by one lone genestealer. So your rules limiting who can damage it are unnessecarily redundant. If an Imperator takes enough damage that all of its void shields are gone and all its structure points are gone and an infantryman manages to get past the AV14, it deserves to topple the titan. Think of it as the soldier planting his meltabomb in a vulnerable joint or power relay exposed by previous blasts.

In short, it looks more like you've put together rules for your little brother climbing up on the table and trashing everyone's figs than an actual 40K model.

the model is more intended for mega-battles, it's gonna be facing a whole lot of titans as I know about 6 people who are busy with scratchbuilding their own titans, not to mention the Mega Gargant and loyalist Imperator beeing build by friends.

and titans get the number of attacks as models that are in btb contact with it so, the same goes for the imperator and yes troops would be able to see from afar, however, an Imperator at full striding speed easily outwalks a horse at top speed.
The reason why the revenant has lesser attacks is because it's a skimmer, also the models is less chunky than the warhound.

Hello have you even seen the model of an Imperator titan cause you really should.
    1. joints are either 10m above the guys head or buried beneath somethings like 5m armour.
    2. and powerrelays aren't or barely located in the legs, the lower bastions are also not connected to the rest of the titan so no serious amount of damage can be dealt.

and sofar all the rules for it have been taken straight from the epic system.

6000 tot 8000pts to field it, it requires 3 war-engine detachments, so it is really limited on when it can be fielded.
