Black Templars: "No Pity! No Remorse! No Fear!"
Dark Angels: "Repent! For tomorrow you die!"
White scars: "For the Khan and the Emperor!"
Imperial fists: "Primarch – Progenitor, to your glory and the glory of Him on Earth."
Blood Angels: "By the blood of Sanguinius!"
Ultramarines: "Courage and honour!"
Well the store I go to did a D-day battle awhile ago. Awsome as hell. Was used as a kick off to the stores armageddon campaign. Was chaos vs guard and various SM chapters. Even had a custom table/terrain built for the battle. This nice lookin Command center/bunker on the beach. Also a special boat was made for it, used the imperial armour 2 book for armor as it was consider a "mega" vehicle (or something). My IW basilisk was dueling the boat trying to disarm the boat befor it came to shore. Between the boats twin-linked earth shaker cannon and 2-4 infinite hunterkill missles, it took almost the entire battle fo rth eboat to blowup my basilisk. Also some of the players including my self did a brief but silient prayer to the lives lost on D-Day.
As apostles yet not as Apostles. As Believers yet not as Believers. As Traitors yet not as Traitors! We are Disciples of Vengeance. Only bowing and praying forgiveness of our God. Only bowing and defeating the enemies of our God. Wielding our Swords in the night and brandishing our Guns during the day. We are Soldiers. The Soldiers of Mala!
My store has done several Beach landing senarios with barbed wire, trenches, mine fields and bunkers. It was as cool as hell.
that would be cool, marines dropping out of the sky to assault a position, chargin up the beach cool
"A miscalculation in a droppod assault, caused by the appearance of many microbursts (very VERY fast jets of wind on a small scale in the air), has caused a marine squad to drop pod onto the beach of an enemy emplacement, instead of behind it. The forward thinking of the commander expected this possible complication, and equipped the force with landing craft."
THat seems like a decent premise.

There should, it seems workable and just needs some good thought- rules for landing craft of some description, drop pods or something.
one of my favourite things for campaigns is to use kill-team to get the ball rolling (some kind of covert ops) just to initiate the attack quietly this gives the feeling of spies being used to work out something to minimize casualties or whatever, anyhow, it is fun.
I think it would work best with two guard armies though sort of rivals or one team (defenders probably) being corrupt or posessed or traitorous or evil, make it up and run with it!

Tat would be a cool d-day thingy. They should have that scenario on d-day at gw stores.
What? You didn't say anything about circular saws.
Not to be the killjoy around here, but I think that holding a game like that on the anniversary of D-day may be seen by some as poor taste. Just hold it another day and it should be fine thoughOriginally posted by ork_em_dork@Jan 29 2005, 11:11
