I agree with upping the Cauldron-Born's Attacks to 2 (3 for unit champion, right?), but are you sure about the price fore Death Riders? Because, if I recall correctly, a 'jink' save is an Invulnerable Save that the unit only benefits from if it moved during that turn.

In other news, I've started a project for a 40K RPG using the Unisystem rules at the Eden Studioes boards- I've already got some interested replies, and if you want I can let you know how it's going.

I really like the death riders, but don't you think the army may be getting a little bit big? And customizable for that matter. But that's just my thougts.

Do you think we could make a special scenario for the Necro's? A mission where they attack, and one where they defend?

It's the very last upgrade I plan to make- we're really just tidying things up. We're not doing too bad though; we're down to 4 Elite and 3 for everything else (technically 4 HQ, but the Retinue-Only Cauldron-Born don't take up a slot).

Haven't I been asking for special scenarios? I haven't a clue how to write them, so could you take a shot Wise ()ld ()wl?

By the way, are you the one who's been writing that Necromancer short story? If so, how's it going?

Yes I have, and sorry, but it's coming along rather slowly. Life happens out here at the High School. Anyways, I'l work on scenarios for the next battle report.

I've worked on it a bit tonight, so here' where I'm at:

“Lord Khalgar, the Imperial Guard are dead,” reported Angelos through the vox-com. “They were killed by a race known as “the Tau”. Do you wish for us to continue?”
“Yes young one. These “Tau” seem to be a strong race, to kill a detachment of Imperial Guard so quickly. They will provide us a good stock. We will descend when it is night on your position. Hold your position, and create some guards. We don’t want these Tau to ruin the celebrations.”
    “Yes, my Lord.”

“Vau’N, ready yourself! They are preparing another attack!” Vau’N shook himself out of his daze as he began to see the corpses begin to rise up again. He quickly un-slung his carbine, and began to fire into the mass of creaking bodies and moaning corpses, rending them apart with rapid pulses of energy. However, the swarm just kept on coming, the undead soldiers shuffling up to the line slowly and surely, some literally being torn apart, others staying on their feet even after being hit directly.
Vau’N felt his hopes rise as he saw several Hammerheads advance into position, and the crew preparing to fire the awesome rail guns. He felt the dull thump of the guns as the submuntion flashed out of the long guns. However, his hopes were short-lived. Out of the swarm came a massive beast in the form of the beast the Gue’la called a carnifex, rotting and decaying. It smashed it’s way through the firing line defending the Hammerheads, throwing them aside as if they were no more than pebbles. As it reached the three hammerheads, it spewed out a viscous green goo, clogging the rail guns firing mechanism. With it’s huge crushing claws, it tore them apart as if they were paper.

The 6+ jink save is worth maybe 1 or 2 pts. Its not good enough to cost 8 or 10 points. I think 15 points is a good price for the ability- besides, these things will be expensive enough to give Ex-Kin Decaps a run for their money. At 15 points, the upgrade has a potential to be used. At 20 pts each, I doubt it will ever be used.

And yeah, we have a good amount of unit. Also, why shouldn't undead be custimizable? I guess we are pushing the limits, but then again undead come in wide varieties and our rules represent that, Wights for undead heroes. Heralds as the ultimate undead creation. Beasts as the giant mofos. The meat wagon thing is nice to transport masses of deadites. Harvesters are our most disposable elite. I think we have a fairly goodlist.

Okay Phalanx, Cauldron-Born now have 2 Attacks each (3 for Ancients) and Wights have Death Riders for +15 points. And I agree with you; we've done pretty damn good to narrow the list down as much as we have; there's so much inspiration out there we could dozens, hell, maybe hundreds of units and upgrades! Speaking of narrowing things down, can anyone think of any things we should trim from the Armoury? Also, I'm calling again for people to report any cheesy/unbalanced units/combos possible with the list.

W()(); I understand- school has never been what I'd consider my friend. Could I ask just what the scenarios are going to be? Also, does anyone like these story ideas? Finally, is that Necromantic Terrain Chart a no-go or what?

    Short story ideas:
1: A Herald of Death on a mission, either-
    A- Assassinate an enemy commander
B- as A but encounters an enemy Imperial Assassin with the same orders
C- Defend an official figure who is either secretly allied with the Necromancers or who may prove useful to them from an Imperial Assassin.

2: The initiation of a new Wight

3: An Imperial Explorator team enters a tomb-complex on a deserted world, only to find the planet is not as lifeless as it appeared...

4: The last few hours of an Imperial Guardsman, surrounded by Zombies.

5: The preperations of a Necromagus/Necromancer Lord in anticipation of the arrival of a diplomatic envoy from a group of Chaos Space Marines interested in seeking an alliance.

6: An Inquisitorial report on the Necromancers that has failed to alert the Imperium, because either the Inquisitor's superior(s) have dismissed it as the ravings of a lunatic and/or heretic or because it was intercepted by Necromancers.

phalanx, i love the new herald....now that i can read it, freak is pretty cool. i like the special terrain stuff, and i think by special scenario owl meant something like the tomb raid mission in the necron codex. for my herald im using a wfb dark elf assasin.

for the damned minds...am i redoing them or not? i do like the idea of them, and i would like to see them kept...also..is a corpse wagon heavy support? maybe we could have it as a troop upgrade, like the rhino or the wave serpent, that u purchase with the squad.

{I}ron {M}an; Spacmarine is rewriting the Damned Minds, and I think he was the one who did them first. If you'd like something to contribute, could you do rules for campaign play with this army?

unseen, I'll try to maybe work this one into the short story I'm already doing.

4: The last few hours of an Imperial Guardsman, surrounded by Zombies.

As the Tau find a vid-record about the Necro's.

also, I need ideas for the scenario. I'll write one, but I need a narrative and and a basic idea. Maybe the summoning of an undead beast, or the creation of a band of exec.-kin.

Personally, I found the herald story ideas interesting.

But anyways, for the senario, maybe it could be on the necro's undead planet. Maybe it could use meat grinder rules or something, but with a special undead twist or something.
