I REALLY think that GW should release an Oriental Army List for Warhammer Fantasy. It doesnt even have to be a full-blown army book, it could just be released in warhammer chronicles. I think that A LOT of people would want that sort of army and it would be one of their best sellers.
Could you maybe specify a bit what you mean by an oriental army? What would it include? What rules...? Fluff...? Background etc...
Lords/Heroes- Master Ninjas :ninja: , Samurai, And maybe some sort of General(The equivalent of an Elector Count), and possibly some sort of mage.
Core- Men-at-Arms(Similar to Bretonnian) which could be armed w/ either hnd wpns, halberds, or bows. other core troops could be a form of Musketeer(Muskets), and a light cavalry
Special-Heavy cavalry, an Arbalest, Emperors Guard(Like Samurai).
Rare-Ronin, Ninja Clans, or a Dragon.
Special Rules- Maybe the Samurai can take Clan Names in exchange for their Magic Items. If anyone could think of any more general rules, post them please
As for where they come from, i think they They could hail from, the unknown land east of the Empire.
p.s- please put any suggestions (not bashing) below
So you mean a Japanese-inspired army from Nippon and not a Chinese one from Cathay? It really isn't necessary, no offense. It would just be another human army.
I love the idea though, but the way I see it, you should make one. There was an article in last month's White Dwarf about "Counts As" stuff, including a blurb about Dave Taylor's proposed Cathayan army that uses the Lothern army list from Storm of Chaos.
A Dogs of War list, or Empire, or something else that's suitable, would work very well.
yeah, i saw that article, they were kinda cool looking. Thanks for the clarification on their origin though! (Y) and honestly i hadnt thought of just basing a converted army of another army list, thats a good idea, thanks! it would still be kinda cool to get official models and rules, you know?
I really wouldn't mind having "just another human army" that had an oriental theme to it. I would definitely buy into it. Look at Empire and Brets, they are both human armies with entirely different play styles, and lots of people play both armies.
I have made a cathay list. Cathay is the warhammer equivalent of china. I got my hands on the roleplaying Cathay book, and made a sort of accurate army. I've been in a bit of a slump about making it though, but having support would be great. Would you like to see?
Yes I damn well would . A Cathayan army is such a great idea.
