I thought of something, don't know if it would work as I just moved and have not yet gotten plugged into the local gaming store, but why not have shooting go in initiative order, and have it work like assault. Vehicles could get an I of whatever the number is for the basic troop choice (Guardians, Tacticle squad, DE warriors, etc). Please find as many problems as you can!
I can count dozens of reasons why that wouldn't work- seperate turns comes to mind.
However, a special save or shooting mod for initiative would be interesting- maybe nothing for up to I5, for I6 and higher a 6+ inv, I8 or higher 5+, and a 4+ for I10..... Or maybe the mods could be 6+ for I5, 5+ for 6 or 7, and 4+ for I8 or higher.... But you then recieve -1 to that ward save for each +1 armor save you have over 4+... So SM commanders wouldn't get it, an I7 broodlord with EC would get a 6+, and stuff like that. And also maybe make monsterous creatures exempt because they are too big for it. Sounds interesting in my opinion.... It would also help people like DE with crap save and high I. Or maybe it should be a cover save, not an inv save.... Yeah, because its sort of hard to dodge a flamer.....

I hate to break your bubble, but there's really no point to making shooting go in initiative order. Everything on your side of the table gets to fire during the same turn, so why make some units have to shoot first?
If both armies got to shoot during the shooting phase, then It might make sense to have the higher init shoot first, but that's really inconcievable at this point in the games development.
I can only see one advantage to this idea, but the tactics involved in that advantage are way too complicated to explain here without the help of visiual aids that I'm not inclined to make right now.
I'm guessing you're talking about removing LOS/leadership issues, it's about the only thing I can think of that would make it worth worrying about, but even then it's not really worth the brain sweat anywayOriginally Posted by H0urg1ass
