I was talking to one of my friends and they came up with a great idea. 13 Heros from WHFB, in 40K, its pretty simple really. This would be best played with around 1000 points.
The 13 heros force guide lines are 1 W3, 2 W2, 10 W1.
You may drop two W1s to upgrade the W3 to W4 (for a chaos lord with d.essence), or drop one W1 to make a W2, W3.
The W1 Heros can be chosen from anywere from the armylist, eg Veteran sergeant from a Assault squad or tactical squad, termintaor squad.. etc
The heros are still limited to normal wargear restrictions.
All heros get the option to take infiltrate for 5 points unless they would not normlly be able to take infiltrate (Mark of khorne) or has a unit strength of more than one (bloodthirster ctan...). So even a Tau Crisis suit would be able to infiltrate.
If the opposing army takes more than 5 weapons that are double the Heros basic toughness, or majority toughness in some cercumstances (causing instant kill), then the heros will get a free 5+ invulnerable save.
The opposiong force should go easy on the heros, eg not an army of ten lascannons. no more than 2 vehicles.
13 heros example forces
10X veteran sergeants
Chaos Space marines
1X Damon prince (W4)
8X Aspiring champions
Please comment and pick faults.

I'm the friend ^_^ Anyway what we forgot was mission details, like is this gonna still have mission objectives etc or is it going to be its own mission. I guess we'll sort that out later. I'll test this at some point this week btwOriginally Posted by danjones87
So what would be the reason that these units would be doing this?
Its an interesting idea, but from the looks of it not much thought was brought forth in the form of common sense, why would 3 HQ's be running around with 10 other models and fighting an enemy army? Looking at some of the ideas, its as though you two have attempted to use the HQ's for kill-teams and taken away the point limits on wargear for each unit. These requests will work for friendly games where you want to give those thirteen units a chance, but against someone who doesnt care/wants to win/want to see them die then these guys should stay home cause there is no way they can win.The opposiong force should go easy on the heros, eg not an army of ten lascannons. no more than 2 vehicles.
No more than 2 vehicles? My 500pt marines use no more than 2 vehicles, but thats cause they tote 20 men around the battlefield. Imagine what will happen to these guys if they go up against an IG or tau army let alone any mechanised force meant for cc.
I don't want to be a bastard and blam this or call it stupid (so I won't...), but some deep thought should be done before you guys continue.

Well, wat happens when the Adeptus Astartes arent there? what does the guard use as their 13 heros, or should I say...30 heros...
How many guardsmen does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None, their lasguns work fine.
