Welcome to Librarium Online!
i was thinking about ripers and how i dont find them usfull for troop squad, and i came up with this idea:
rippers can be attacked to a squad with synapse. if the squad they are attached to has leaping they must purcase leaping, same goes for flying, and other movment related ablilities.
the unity the ripers join can be shot at serpatly from the rippers
the rippers cost 10% more. ex. i give my warriors w/ leaping a ripper squad, the rippers cost 22pts a base (10pts base cost + 10 pts leaping + 2pts, 20% of 20)
the rippers cannot be in squad larger than 3 for hive tyrants and zonathropes, and no larger than 5 for warriors squads of over 6 (3 if under 6)
comments, sugestion? ideas?
tell me them
The one problem is Majority Toughness. When shooting or assaulting the squad and the attached Rippers, they'll use the Rippers' Toughness if there are at least as many Rippers as other models.
Why do the survivors remain anonymous -- as if cursed -- while the dead are revered? Why do we cling to what we lose while we ignore what we still hold?
Name none of the fallen, for they stood in our place, and stand there still in each moment of our lives.

for shooting they count as a seperate squad
i thought i already said that....
Thats where the problem lays, if they are counted as a seperate unit for shooting there is little point taking them, they would be ignored and the creatures that can have them hardly need the support they provide in CC.
Wouldn't it be better if the rippers allowed re-rolling a failed armour save per turn, to represent them getting in the way (i.e actually being a meat sheild)? that would make less things to worry about.
interesting, the rippers let the synapse ceature rerole failed armor saves, as well as be a unit in combat. but would you still be alowed to shot at the rippers, or be only able to shoot at the synapse
I would say you can shoot at the unit, but rippers that are bought as an upgrade (like from the armoury) does not count in regards to majority toughness yet give you a re-roll.
Limit it to a maximum of 3 bases to stop it being to powerful.
i like it !
(gah.. this is way to late to post this, but them i was gone for awhile...) *feels realy slow*
they should be 11pts basic
22 pts w/ leaping flying
Sounds good to me.
Would it not be a good idea to make a limit of 0-3 bases? it stops people maxing out on bases (well, just short of them having equal numbers to the tyrant and guard etc) and making the unit even harder.
most definatly- otherwise you could have unkillable warriors! (which is not good)
