Well I play dwarfs and they're a great army and such but i think they need mounted units and skirmishers. So, I talked with some friends and some guuys a GW and I got some stats and rules fro 2 different units.Oh yeah and flame me all you want, it makes me better.
Core Choice DWARF SCOUT
Scout- M5 WS3 BS4 S3 T4 W1 I1 A2 LD9
Veteran-M5 WS3 BS4 S4 T4 W1 I1 A3 LD9
Special Rules- Skirmishers
Equipment- Dwarf bow and arrow, hand weapon, no armor
unit size- 5-30 units
you may only have 1 unit of Scouts in your army, unless you opt to not use artillery,gyrocopters and handguns.Note however, you can still use bolt throwers and stone throwers.
You may equip any unit with sheilds for +1 pts
You may swap Bow and arrow for throwing axes and light armor for no additional cost
Upgrade one scout to a musicain for +8 pts
Upgrade one scout to standard bearer for +8 pts
Upgrade one scout to veteran for +15 pts
Special unit Horned Mountain Wolf
You may mount any core unit on a horned wolf for +15 pts per model. You may mount special units on one for +20 pts per model.

Any model mounted on a horned mountain wolf counts as a special choice unless led by a Mounted lord.
Any model may be upgraded to a great mountain wolf for +10 pts.

Unfortunately its not in character.
Typically its the weaknesses in a list that make it what it is as much as the strengths.
If you still feel that you want mounted units or skirmishers in a dwarf list, I'd suggest fielding a Dogs of War unit in your list.
If you really want them to be 'dwarves' you could use the infamous counts as rule.

Almost no(non monstrous ie: Ogres/Minotaurs/Tree Kin) infantry units have a base 2 or more attacks. Its pretty darn rare. And you're giving it to a scouting unit which you would think would be less about hth than about shooting. Particularly because these guys have less weapon skill than regular dwarves.
Sorry SHIGGY, these guys don't scream 'Dwarf' to me. I'm not sure what they are, but they aren't dwarf-like.
What is a 'dwarf bow' by the way?
I can see what you were trying to do with their limitations. Making them part of a more 'traditional' dwarf list.
And I could even see a skirmishing unit armed with bows maybe. After all, Dwarfs need to hunt too perhaps.
I'd just go back and make their stats more dwarf like.
One thing you might consider though is that due to their height, a dwarf's ability to use a regular style bow (unless he pulls the string horizontaly) is going to be very limited.
Perhaps this is why they typically use crossbows instead.
Plus the fact that crossbows make more sense in tunnels underground since they fire in a direct line rather than in arcs.Originally Posted by SHIGGY
Here's you've got 'in effect' minor monstrous mounts being ridden by units.
Typically only characters in any list can ride mounts with more than one wound.
I'm not going to comment any further, but I suggest you take a look at the mounted units of other races when coming up with stats.

Mebbe that would fix some things up and sorry i meant 3 in move for scouts typo sorry. ok 5+ save for the mountain wolfs, I guess thats fair. You may use them unmounted but they have to take a stupidity test.

Special rules-Scouts like to travel light, and on the march, they may move 8 in instead of the normal double movement for all other dwarves.Also, as masters of the mountain, they do not take movement penalties while mving through wooded areas.

Ok Just no.. you need to go with a theme here rather than make units for roles you want filled.
Dwarf lack of speed is already somewhat countered by the Gyrocopter and Rangers
They really do not do mounted creatures. Especially of all things Wolves that they associate with their greatest enemies (Orcs and Goblins). There is nothing in the fluff however that forbids them fighting from horse drawn waggons (no doubt filled with booze and gold).

if you want short archers then get Lumpin Crooks halflish archers as a Dog of War special choice, dwarfs dont make much out of wood and an iron bow would be next to useless.
If dwarfs did ride around on anything id imagine it would be either pit ponies or mountain goats (but that would look pretty ridiculous), then again if you and the people you game with insist then id suggest you look at the west wind dwarf wars range of minis, as they produce mounted dwarfs.
if you look there they have dwarfs mounted on pigs, horses, wolves and lions- take your pic!
