This is an invitation to anyone interested in helping rewrite/rework the old creature design rules for Tyranids. In addition we will create the equivalent of many of the new bimorphs for supper monstrous creatures. And example could be: high pressure spore crysts which would create and launch spore mines. Also, I would like to create rules for making alternate genus of gaunts, warriors, genestealers, and possibly rippers. These new genus should be based largely of the last rule book, an example would be infiltrating genestealers instead of fleating ones, or on GW fluff. The last thing which I feel should be included is rules for developing limited variations on the guns.
The way I see these rules being integrated into the codex is thus: you will have a maximum amount of mutated/created tyranid organism/swarms in an army, for example 3. you will also have a maximum of mutated guns, say 2. The mutated gaunts/genestealers/warriors/rippers (I will refer these troops as swarms) will have a point cap on the amount of mutations you can give them. The swarms point cap will be around the average cost of the troop normally say for genestealers and rippers 20 pts a model. The created monstrous creatures and supper monstrous creatures (ones with mass points) will have no point cap, but will use the rules for creating and equipping them from old creature design, with the add bimorphs we create based of the new codex.
my hope is to, when we finish, submit these updated rule to Chapter Aproved.
waiting for the sunrise!
well, i dont think ill be able to help with it, but just something to think about...
the original rules were made to allow you to make a specialised creature to be taken as a 'one off' creature, made to fulfil a specific role in the army...
if you make it possible to make troops and such (instead of just heavy support which is what the old ones did, i think...) then not only would balance be a lot harder, but it would mean that you are making the tyranid army list able to be changed completely from any way it was meant to function
personally id say that rather having it as tyranid design rules, if you want to have troops and such made by this then you should make it seperate from the 'nids codex to allow people to make their own codexes
... that said, i would like infiltrating genstealers again
Yes. Infiltrating Genestealers & "Jones is acting strange".
Post your army lists in the ARMY LIST section! Not that hard!
Stick a broodlord into your stealers and they regain the inf abality. Nuff said!
I want a flying tyrant guard! a rule could be connected that while flying any wounds inflicted would kill it instantly as it would drop from the sky and spread its guts over the battlefield!
I would like to help with making revised rules for it.
@macewind, winged tyrant guard is more powergaming, they should be reserved to the walking version only.
I know, i know. Still want one tho
Keep bugging GW enough and you might get your wish in a few years.
i'd like it so u can make scratch gaunts like in the preious codex were u can give gaunts scything talons and wings. also some of the old mutations were cool such as acid blood.
i think it would be very cool to make all the tyranid genomes to be completly biomorphable so u can make ur fleet as u wish just like the tyranids are susposed to b able to do. also i would like a genestealer cult section
