My two brothers and my cousin are interested in stating and finishing a campaingn over the course of this summer. However we have hit a couple of hitches.
the first and most important is type of campaign. I'd perfer a map based one, where controll of territories is important. Similiar to Dawn of War Dark Crusade
However my youngest brother might not be able to comprehend the importance and tactics of the territories. (he is in third grade. But he is an amazing tactical genius when it comes to the necron phalanx, and he litterally never fails a we will be back roll)
And my younger brother would perfer a narrative campain. He likes to write. but im not interested in that. I just wanna play a game that requires a bit more thinking than a straight up game.
The next problem is armies. Yeah we are going to have a clash of some pretty crazy armies. I play daemon hunters (no grey knights) or space marines ( i like shooty armies with the option of cc). My youngest brother plays tau or necron (he likes super shooty armies) my younger brother plays a couple armies (he is insane, lol i hope he reads this) Iron warriors, orks, IG, and witch hunters with lots of IG allies. and my cousin has a lot of half finished armies.
So the campain could possibly be IG vs witch hunters vs daemon hunters vs (necron / tau) LOL so obviously a narative wont make sense
any ideas to save the campaing are welcome cause im taking classes over the summer instead of working - meaning ill have lots of time for gaming.

It is possible to combine the two. If the Deamon Hunters are looking for something or trying to kill something specific they wont let anything get in their way. This can lead to narrative on where they may choose to go next. If you reveal a bit more of the story after each game to the sides involved that might influence their decisions of where to attack next. This works only if one person knows the whole story, and trys to stop the others getting whatever their looking for.
