    Warhammer sea battles

With the upcoming release of mighty empires I am writing rules for sea battles, as Man O War is pretty much dead. I will post rules for each race individually and if anyone wants a race added just ask. I am currently looking for ideas as to what the first armies should be. Expect rules sometime today or tommorow posted I am currently refinig so wait patiently my friends and be rewarded.

Just some generic rules with guidelines should be nice. Also, have you checked the Generals Compendium? Tons of rules on ships and stuff.

I have indeed checked The Generals Compedium but I am treating this as stand alone rules. Also over the past 8 years of gaming I am seemingly the only person with The Generals Compendium.

Just from a background/fluff standpoint, certain armies should probably come before others. High and Dark elves have both been mentioned as having skilled sailors and fleets. The human based armies (Brett,Empire and Dogs of War) both have port cities and have sail-going trade. Those are the main armies with fleets, some of the other armies actually don't make sense having ships (dwarves, CD, OK) others could be justified (Skaven sewer ship).
    Just some ideas

It is well known dwarfs sail and have a renown port which I will lookup. Also OK often sail the seas with other sailors and so probably have their own ships.

It would be interesting to see models/rules someday for Tomb Kings; in life they had great navies and in undeath they have skeletal ships, which seems like a cool concept for me... as well as the open-endedness of undead constructs!

Lizardmen are my favourite race but I can't imagine them having much seafaring ability beyond levitating/teleporting away, and giant sea lizards....

    However: Black Arcs!
    I leave it at that.
