Yeah I have been looking forward to that Eldar set for a few weeks now. From what I understand, the big sets will be a great deal. And....Too many russ! Way too many russ for one army...why? WHY!?
I still want to ee a pic of the new wierd boy model for the orks.
That despite spending quite a large amount on building my 2500 point collection of SMs in the last few months I took one look at the Battle Company and thought, that is for me! I purchased the DA Army box, the SM Megaforce and one each of the Ravenwing and DA Battle Force Boxed Sets. I loved having the sprues set out in front of me as I was able to mix and match and create the army that I wanted piece by piece.
I think the opportunity of buying a large amount of miniatures encourages planning in a way that casual purchases do not. When you buy 106 marines you can assemble them vanilla style or you can take a bit of time to make sure that your company is exactly the way you want it. I remember seeing a huge Howling Griffons army in White Dwarf way back when and that was when I first got the big army desire. Personally I am looking forward to being able to play campaigns with truly vast apocalyptic even battles as well as smaller skirmishes.
I'm actually quite disappointed with the eldar wind rider host. I thought for sure this was going to be the time they would FINALLY give us some new bikes whose riders don't look completely pants. I mean, moding the plastic guardians onto the existing bikes is pretty easy, but it would be nice to have an actual kit for it.
The autarch in that photo doesn't look particularly different either, it really looks like they took a jetbike, slapped an Autarch backpack and a new head, and called it a day. I'll need to see them closer up to really get a good feel for it, but so far, not blown away.
Looks like all the other releases look pretty stellar though, even those who didn't get new models get a good deal.
What I am looking forward to is the price of $90 for $228 worth of stuff.
How mnay tanks are in the imp tank boxed set??
However on another note, a note that contradicts all I just said. Where are the boxes of fifty Tyranid warriors at a discount and mobs of Carnifex's?
