Just note that I did not acquire these myself, I found them on The Blood Keep. So, without further ado, here they are. Sorry if this is old, but I couldn't find them elsewhere. Edit: Ack, the links aren't working, but spent so much time getting them up I'm not removing them.

1) Ethereal rules are being changed to 1 of 2 possibilities: They will either be toughness 7 or have a 2+ ward save.
2) Black Knights and Grave Guard will be able to be Invoked. I don't know the specifics, whether they will be similar to Tomb Kings where they cannot exceed their starting Unit size, or if it will be on the regular 1d6, 2d6, 3d6, or if it will be a 1d3, 2d3, 3d3 type thing. That wasn't made clear to me.

vampire Counts are going to be the next army right after the High Elve, they are going to be released early next year (probably march, Phil laughed and said that it is really weird that they are relasing VC on spring rather than winter, they just don't match this part of the year to well ). Completely new line of models was mentioned, image of the models will change from the current cartoony/hollywood to more gothic warhammer-ish. Vampires will play bigger role than necromancers in the army, new bloodlines were mentioned too.

One of the guys in my gaming club that has pretty reliable sources (he heard about the new HE rules of Always Strikes First and blah blah blah way before any official stuff was released suggesting that was really going to happen) told me about a possibility for the new Vampire Counts:
He heard that Vampire Counts will be causing fear in fear causing units!

Background will stay for the existing bloodlines.
They will be there as examples only . IE If you want to imagine/create another Vampire Bloodline that you are keen on from a work of fiction...book or movie...or indeed dredge from the depths of your own twisted imagination. You will be free to do this. Place them in the world give them a history and off you go.
Whilst you average Von Carstien may spend the greater ammount of his time drinking and dancing and eyeing the cleavage of a gently heaving boosom....sorry lost concentration for a moment. Surely when he goes to war..he slips into the family, hierloom, magic armour or at least makes use of one of those suits of armour that are always standing around in Vampire castles.
I think if you want to play a Von Carstien...based in Sylvania but want him to be as fighty as a blood dragon you will have this option. Or if you want to play a blood dragon who discovered some old tomb of magic in the treasure vaults of Mousillon and make him as magicy as a Nechrach...you will have this option. (Pleasse note I THINK I am piecing together snippets from a number of sourecs to form this opinion)I think they are trying to stop the background influencing the 'style' of vampire you want to play.
I have not the first idea how they will achieve this, what this will mean in terms of bloodlines powers or any other bloodline specific rules.....sorry.
I have heard that Vampire Counts will not be getting a plastic box set because of the conflict of individual Vampires being limited by one individuals image in a box set.
Thus I expect to see at least as many new Vampires as we have seen Goblin Heroes and Shamans ...all very individual all very unique so you have lots to pick from to choose one that most closely resembles your image of your vampire.
Take it or leave it...thats just what I hear.
Oh...Wraiths!!! There back...in units!

I feel like Death...
mentioned last time that John Blanche was doing the concept art for the new Undead. I think Games Workshop is keen to produce its own vision of the Undead rather than something more generic so that Games Workshop’s Undead are unlike anyone else’s Undead. I think this is something they will look to achieve increasingly in the future with other armies, which may also explain some of the change in ‘flavour’ in the recent Empire releases.
As a result we can expect a more “constructed” look, artificial beings more than the typical zom¬bies’ held together with bits of wood, metal and bone.
On this theme the whole “Golem” (Ogre sized, Undead constructs) rumour just refuses to die (that’s Undead for you!). I still keep hearing about this unit even though I asked Gav about it myself and he told me it was not happening. I think what may be happening is rumours from Warseer are just being repeated. Having said that, Golems did make it into the Liber Necris, which is the Undead’s answer to the Liber Cha¬otica by The Black Library. So make of that what you will. Honestly I have no idea!
Some people on the forums seem to be under the impression that bloodlines are going to be scrapped in the new book. I am not sure this is correct. Last time I said:
“Gav Thorpe has been quoted as saying that he thinks the bloodlines are too restrictive and that players should be able to have more individual vampires, not limited by the bloodlines.”
I get the impression bloodlines will still be there and have an effect on your list but their impor¬tance will be toned down a little. I have heard that vampires will be able to pick from a selec¬tion of vampire abilities but will not be restricted by their bloodline.
Most of the mini’s; I told you about last time (the zombies, the Ghouls and Skeleton Variants (including plastic Grave Guard), are now fin¬ished.
I suggested we would be getting a number of new vampires. So far I have heard about acou¬ple of Necrachs and a mounted Lahmian but the two most interesting Vampire minis I have heard about so far are a female Blood Dragon (Ohhh. Kate Beckinsale sir? Suits you sir. Will sir be wanting a mini to go with that? Your damn tooting sir will) and a really impressive vampire Lord transforming into a bat that sounds cool.
I have heard about both plastic and metal Necromancers. I have said before that I do not anticipate a plastic Vampire kit but a selection of metal vampires however I think we will be get¬ting a Plastic kit for Foot & Mounted Necroman¬cers. (with multiple heads arms much like the Empire mage sprue). But I also think we will get some Metal Necromancers just as we have forthe Empire in addition to the plastic kit.
And that’s it for minis *cough* plague *cough* cart *cough*. Excuse me. Until next time.

I have heard some rumors onCarpe Noctem about the Bloodlines getting units for themselves, not useable for other Bloodlines. This would mean that;
- Skeletons and Zombies should stay available for all Bloodlines.
- GW might introduce some new units, such as the fabled Werewolf or Flesh Golems ogre-sized units.
Rumors are rumors though. But in the time Wood Elves were to be released I definantly read all rumors and they seemed to be right on most occasions (except for the fact that it was 'Spite' and not 'Sprite' ! tongue.gif ). So I do believe these rumors are based on some sort of truth.
Nevertheless, you can still take it with a pinch of salt though.
I also heard of Necrarchs getting new models.
But what do you think about it?
Sounds interesting, eh? Again, sorry if this has been posted before, but I haven't seen it yet. Also bear in mind that it's from The Blood Keep
New to me
I dont like the sound of causing fear in fear causers.. That would destroy low Ld Ogres, who somewhat rely on their fear-causing to avoid taking those Ld tests.
Unless it was just a stupid way of saying they'll be upgraded to 'terror'.
I still say DE need it more
Dark Elves - Game #28 vs High Elves: Draw

What excites me is the prospect of a new Bloodline:party2:, and every Bloodline getting a new unit each.
MF, the difference between that and terror would be that it doesn't spook anyone who decides to get too close. It sounds interesting, but a little unlikely, though that would sound like something GW would do to make the new army stronger though.
Some of those rumours seem VERY harsh. For example, causing fear to other fear causing units is OTT. Being able to raise grave guard and black knights seems again pretty nasty, it might be passable though.
It would be nice to see some bloodline linked units, but what could you imagine they would have???
buckero0 i concour with most of your points above.
Well, I'm really looking forward to the new book, and these rumours didn't dampen the feeling
As for raising Grave Guard and Black Knights, I'd rather have them weakened down, and raisable then the way it is now. I mean, they're just skeletons with a history, why the hell can't I raise them now, like all the other skeletons? They are raisable, else they'd still lie in their coffins. And the idea of having almost your entire army clawing their way back up is too damn neat to pass up. I think it's a fitting change.
I don't like the idea of bloodline specific units though, most likely one or two of them will "rock" and that's the bloodline(s) you'll see at most competitive tournaments. I'd prefer it if it was all set to be very diverse, and eveyr army you met would be different, that would be neat.
Good find mate
HE are proposed to have the always strike first special rule for the army, but i dont think it will be the normal rule. i think it only applies to non elves, and non charging units. so in a protracted combat, HE will strike first even if the ennemy has higher I. I think its a bit over exagerated, rumors always come up with strange stuff that will make them way too good if it were true ( like the rumor that swordmasters and Dragon princes will have 2A). im not saying people are unreliable, its just that where those poeple got it from might be pure speculation. the army book come out with the army box set for HE in late/mid october, not sure, im certain im buying it, and plenty of other people are, so lets wait until the codex is out to start complaining.
as for VC, i dot think that you will be able to summon knights, i think ( this only a thought) that you will be able to pay half price for a unit, and can raise them with invocation of Nehek, and they cant go past the maximum unit size you paid for them. or, they come up like deep strike in 40k, that makes sense actually, so BK will be able to be summuned, but i think theres gonna be a major catch.
also, remember that some rumors are just ideas that GW had. ( note , just ideas) they brainstorm ways to change the army around and come up with a few, but by no means go through with all their ideas. So some rumors are true because they leaked out the idea/ propossed phase of codex making, some of these will be true, some wont, but its not like anyones pulling this out their ass.
these rumors are probobly what GW is thinking about doing, but there not all gonna be true most likely. the only think we can count on and look forward to for HE and VC is a new miniture range with kick-ass models, GW just keeps getting better and better at modeling, so i think these new models will be fantastic. ( that dragon kit looks sweet, i dont like that armor over the dragons head or the rider, but because it plastic, itlle have plenty of customization) i think maybe a zombie dragon kit or a winged nightmare will come out for plastic for VC, if you get any pics, post em.
sry for the long post,
peace, love, and dead gnoblars
I think t7 cause look in rulebook 7th ed. you'll see that all ethereal have t7
Causing fear in fear causing units would give the army something special. Every army has a special rule. High elves = asf, LM = coldblooded, empire = detachments, ogres = bull charge, woodelves = move and shoot...the list goes on. The new dark elves are already rumored to all get hatred. Who knows if vc will get the special fear rule, but I wouldnt reject it quite yet.
