Welcome to Librarium Online!
FarseerUshanti posted this on Warseer after going to the Baltimore GT. There is a confirmation of the plastic Drop Pod as well.
Hello everyone. Just got back from the Baltimore GT, and had a blast. At the end there was a presentation by I believe it was John Schaefer from the Design Studio about upcoming releases. He also had a fairly long Q&A afterwards.
Talked about the Ork Codex and ran through the bullet points. nothing much said about them except there will be more trukks and such things released after the initial window.
The ork army box for release on Dec 22nd contained 10 boyz, 5 lootas, 1 ork trukk, 3 bikes, 5 tanksbustas (i think), 1 shokk attack gun, and either 1 painboy or 1 weirdboy
Did say a Deamon Codex would be the next 40k release after Orks. He also said they would be 2 seperate books, one for Fantasy and one for 40k, and that he had played against both of them
Also said that Jes Goodwin has sculpted 1 model for DE (didn't saywhich one) and that he has seen several concept sketches of Comaaraugh.
The designers want to really get into the fluff of DE because previous Codex's for them were lacking.
Necrons are also being redone, but he said that we would see Dark Eldar before the Necrons
He said that Space Wolves would possibly be the next chapter released for Space Marines.
Also said that any form of Inquisition/ Alienhunters is not "on the radar" which means it is aways out.
Said he had no knowledge of any sort of plastic trenchcoat guard for release
Also said that one of the guys had recently finished a large project, and his next project would be to do the 40k FAQ's. He acknowledged that the support was fairly abysmal and said that was going to change
Also this next bit is a bit shaky as I couldn't remember exactly what was said, but someone asked if a new SM codex would be done to reflect the change sin the new codex chapters. I am pretty sure that he replied there was some work being done up to and including playtesting. People asked about things such as terminators squads being only 5 men and such, and the reply was that nothing is set in stone right now.
Also next week on November 12th there will be a number of datafexes for Apocalypse released on the websites, and the plan is to release new ones about every month or so, and with a new codex several of them at the codex release.
Ork datafexes include a buggy/trukk one, and one involving 3 shokk attack guns
He also said people be extremely happy with the new plastic drop pods.
If you have quesitons feel free to ask and I will attempt to remember them and reply
Enjoy. JvK
can't wait for plastic drop pods. They will look rly cool scattered around the battlefield
DOWN WITH THE FALSE EMPEROR!!!MAY HIS GALAXY BURN!!!
Thanks for posting all this stuff! It will be nice to see some more online items, and I know I'm excited for plastic drop pods (although I don't know that I can retire the pvc pipe awesomeness that I use now).
FarseerUshanti also had this to say about WHFB. Some of it is old news, some of it is not.
Just got back from the Baltimore GT where a presentation and Q&A was done on upcoming releases. Here is all that was said and asked
2 Daemon Codex’s( 1 for each system 40K and Fantasy)
AN article will be written by Jervis Johnson in WD about how Fantasy Daemons will interact with Hordes of Chaos
Vampire Counts are well into play testing stage.
Unit called Corpse Coach
Focus on Sylvanians I believe
Some sort of rules for Bloodlines, but not in the sense everyone is thinking about
Dark Elves will have a special army rule similar to how High Elves have the go first rule. DE will not get the go first rule however
Chaos Dwarves are a very good possibility.
There may have been a few other things he mentioned for Fantasy, but I can't quite remember them right now
Enjoy. JvK
Redoing the necrons hmm... They dont really need that much done, model wise at least, although I would love to a see a plastic Lord in the vein of the SM/CSM ones that've been released, and everyone knows plastic flayed ones/pariahs/immortals would be awesome even if they only released one of them in the grey stuff . Daemon codex sounds pretty interesting, and will looking forward to both versions of it. New Dark Eldar stuff is most definately needed, as they've been neglected too long, and unlike the Orks, their models weren't anywhere near as nice nor were their rules anywhere near as balanced, so its good that it isnt too far off.
Jared you have to be my favorite poster, since you always bring me good news and nothing depressing, lol.
All of the news is good, especially about Dark Eldar and Dark Elves. Personally I don't see Necrons as an army that needs a new book, I'd be fine with a buttload of new mini's but it will be interesting to see what they do with them.
Vamps seem to be coming along well, but the release of both a 40k and Fantasy Deamon codex has me all teared up, always thought that would be an amazing army to run. Gah...GW is finally giving me choices.
CD's a high possibility?! So my army won't go to waste? Huzzah I say! Honestly this is great news, and if GW does it serious I believe it will sell well.
