This is the new Ork deal on Advanced Orders. Looks pretty good to me.
Enjoy. JvK
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
considering thats meant to be the big expensive box set, you don't seem to get many boyz for your buck, or maybe thats just me. 10 standard boyz? thats barely one squad! lets see:
1 Troops (minimum sized!!!)
1 fast attack
not exactly a balanced starting army IMO, and i don't exactly see the point in having say, the bomb squigs, they are purely wargear and shouldn't be needing a seperate model!
i would have thought a balanced box would have had at least 20-30 normal boyz leaning more towards troops rather than elites instead of being a box of all the new models...
I was kinda expecting more Ork boyz. Orks are supposed to be a horde/swarm army, but getting a mere 20 boyz? Of which 10 are specialists...
Not really enamored with the Weirdboy either, a Warboss would have probably been more useful in such a small army.
Considering it's £100, it doesn't seem very good value at all.
Apathy is its own reward...
actually it's not even an armydeal, they call it a spearhead as it contains only the new models and no codex.
Yes its more of a preview box, if anything. A taste of ork models before the main release. I guess you can get this as a starter and wait till the army box comes out and add to it.
Ultramarines Second Company
Well from what it looks like is they are putting more speed into orks than numbers.
Because they got the wartrukk to put the 10 boyz +2 HQs in. Got the fast attack to go along with them. And got the elites to shoot some stuff.

It's an interesting setup to be sure. I would have expected to see more troops...but as said, maybe this is just the appetizer to the army boxes main course. I'm thinking that I will wait for the real deal.
I had a big talk about this box at my local GW with about 10 ork players and we all agree its not worth the money, it has about the same amount of points as a 90 dollar box set, about 500 pts, but costs twice as much, the tau and space marine box sets that cost 175 dollars have at least 1000 pts worth, that is our only complaint, it would be worth it if we got the codex a month early.
It isn't supposed to be an 'army deal', as said above.
It is a 'spearhead', showing off the new models, for anyone wanting to expand their current armies, or people wanting to get all the new shiney stuff.
Finally, if you're in the UK (and probably elsewhere), you can get the codex 'added-on' to the spearhead for £10, by phoning up GW mail order.
