Damm love the tzeentch special characters
Damm love the tzeentch special characters
Well....
Hmm, all i have for armour cutting seems to be the Keeper. So i will have to include Letters. Ach well, i will find a way to model Nettes into them
However i am deffo taking The Masque!!! That stuff is awesome. Make cavalry run 2D6 for example...
However i have a massive problem with the Slaaneshi Lore. The vast majority of it is 7+. This means Heralds have to use two dice to get the spell off. Unless theyre making things stupid. And they probably have to use the other spells, as the Keeper has to use Phantasmagoria.
Gah! What to do!
So I finally got a chance to actually look through the army book today and see what everything costs, and I think most of it looks about the way I'd expect. Plaguebearers have the potential to be the hardest infantry in Warhammer (at least, hardest to kill) and if anything they might be undercosted. Horrors are pretty scary, and give Tzeentch armies the potential to actually be deadly in the magic phase (off the top of my head I think you can realistically hit 25-30 power dice and 10+ dispel dice each turn if you max out).
Slaanesh went from being the most attractive army in HoC to probably the least attractive army (stats and options wise) in the Demons book.
Yup, the Tzeentchian magic phase should be killer. I can't wait to get Fateweaver and the Blue Heralds on the field together. Mmmm.. Magic goodness.
No, I don't have any wool.
Too bad screamers got nerfed. Great models but not even really good for warmachine hunting. Does anyone see a reason to take them over furies?
Yeah for fluff reasons and because they are such great models
enough reasons for me to take a squad
Well can't wait till they release the special characters pretty curious how they will look haven't seen any pictures of the Tzeenthz special characters or the Heralds for that matter. Maybe they will be released on the 2 release wave somewhere around aprill 12 or at release
Well i saw the DoC book today. Very, very dirty, although i dont think it will be as powerful as some of the recent books as it will have obvious flaws which can be exploited.
All the Lores are nice, herald Abilities are nice. Special Characters are quite balanced points wise (!!!) Greater daemons are a bit expensive.. and the Daemonic power points limit is annoying, limits them a lot. Better then they were, but not by much.
All the Daemon units are nice. Flamers with D6 shots each, Screamers flying over multiple units in a zigzag fashion, Herald abilities conferred onto units are ace.
At first glance, im actually quite pleased with this book. Although there is now a definite jump to 7th ed armies, once they are all redone then fantasy will be a very different game, more powergame like that the nice tactical, sensible game it is now.
OH! And warning to anyone starting Tzeentch, plastics should be on their way a few months after the DoC release. My guess is GW made Tze uber so everyone will buy the metals, then buy again when new cool plastics are released.

Are they all being redone? How do you know? How long do we wait? Etc, etc?OH! And warning to anyone starting Tzeentch, plastics should be on their way a few months after the DoC release. My guess is GW made Tze uber so everyone will buy the metals, then buy again when new cool plastics are released.
BTW I really hope they redo the Horrors. I had a SoC army and glueing all those metal arms was rediculous.
Ill be able yo confirm it with my stores manager, he will know for definite, but i spoke to one of the employees. I was saying to him about what GW are trying to do, make Tze uber in the new book, have everyone buy metal, then bring out new plastics. His reaction was quite... telling, and afterwards he did say it was very likely we would see Tze plastics in the future. Im not 100% positive, but now you cant say you havent been warned![]()
They will eventually be doing plastics for Tzeench and Nurgle at some point along the way. The reason for bringing out the plastics for Khorne and Slaanesh is that these daemons were the ones that GWs market research showed have sold the most and would sell the most if they were to be re-released. It all comes down to the business decisions in the end.
Still my Nurgle army is going to be getting a few more models before I move on to my next army led by a daemon prince of Malus with bloodletters painted in black with half of their faces painted white. 8Y
