Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi, I apologise if this has already been mentioned, but I sent an Email to GW this morning asking if I could order some Sonic Blaster models separately from the normal pointless box set, and unless he's leading down the garden path (which I don't think he is) then this is great news as I've wanted an Emperors children Army for aaaaages, but couldn't be arsed to convert all the guns, anyway, this is the response I got.
We are currently awaiting a bits pack to go up, this however may take a month or more as we have to stagger a lot of the (re)releases for out bits service as there is so much to do.
We are currently looking at 5 sonic blaster and one blast master pack, with the price to be decided,.
Keep an eye out on the new bits and collectors pdf download on the web store in the coming works.
Hope this helps

I doubt they are coming out with a new Emperor's Children box set. What the GW employee more than likely refers to is the overhaul to the current bitz system. For a while now you have been unable to order individual bitz from their website because they are figuring out different "bitz packages" they want to offer. These are the same old bitz from the old packages but will come in groups that make sense (so space marine stuff will probably be grouped in packs of 5). So the GW employee is probably telling you that in the future you will be able to buy the same blastmasters and sonic blasters but they will come in logical groups for a decided price.
Yep - had a similar comment from the Australian online store yesterday.
GW are supposedly bringing in bitz lines around May (here, at least, perhaps earlier for UK/US?) but the guy I spoke to wasn't sure of the final form this would take or what would be on offer at this stage.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

It's all about guess work and customer feedback. Currently GW are just testing out what combinations in bitz packs work and then possibly changing them. When i ordered my last order i mentioned that the Imperial Fist bitz pack only has 5 shoulder pads, whereas the other chapter pads available have 10. Granted for the IF pack i also get 5 backpads and some bitz, but i shouldn't have to pay £10 in order to get 10 pads when for Ultramarines for example i only have to pay £5. The guy on the phone said he'd pass it on with all the other things being sent to the higher ups, and sometime in the near future hopefully they'll make a new mold for 10 pads but until then they wont make new molds.
It's a similar sort of thing with the Armour of the Ages box. Over the years people have asked for more of the older armours and so GW have put this box together to see how popular it does. If it sells really well then GW will most likely do a small range of each armour, or they'll transfer it to Forgeworld and see how it does there. All about trial and error.
It's the philosophy of it for me: given I love the hobby, I'd prefer to support it by giving GW my money rather than some third-party bitz provider.
All GW have to do is give me something to buy. ;-)
P.S. Any GW staff reading - 'Nid options, please. Warrior rending claws and Carnifex weapons, specifically. Ta!
Thats good news.
Im in the process of assembling a an emperors children army with 21 sonic blasters and I really did not want to convert them all.
I guess I will just wait and hope that they release this bits box promptly.
Oh, and it sounds like a bitz set rather than a boxed set.
It's worth a krak!
I'm just constantly checking the Bitz catalogue PDF off the web site store, I've also received information that the person who replied is a very reliable source, I can't wait for the release, I've got a cracking paint scheme in mind, so I'll probably do a blog after I order a pile of sprues.
