What is the connection between the C'tan and that strange metal you can make swords from? If you hit a C'tan with a C'tan blade he will absorb it into his body or something. The C'tans are beings made of matter, not spirits like daemons, so I wonder if the C'tans ARE that metal. When the went to sleep they turned into metal. But the metal(or C'tan body mass) is scattered around the galaxy, so they must gather their body mass together, because their power grows progressively with the amount of metal they posess.
That's what I think. But I don't know a lot about them, I've read the codex and lot of WD but only novel with necrons I've read is Nightbringer. What do you think(know) is the deal with that metal?
Ave Dominus Nox!
Actually a C'tan is a energy being that can inhabit a living metal shell, the Necrodermis. A C'tan phase sword must be made of the same metal and when a C'tan phase sword comes in contact with a Necrodermis inhabited by a C'tan the being absorbs the sword back into the Necrodermis.
I think there's c'tan essence in the swords too, that may be the difference between the phase sword and the war scythe.
“Someone I know calls a Sphinx a Sphincter I really don’t have the heart to correct them
“So you want to be made feel like a small boy and dominated do you? How about you dress up as Micky Mouse and I‘ll hit you with a baseball bat until you pass out or die?
An energy being, so that's why they are feeding on stars..
How about when they are not inhabiting this metal, in what form are they existing then? As pure energy floating around?
And what acctually happened in the end of the Nightbringer novel, did Uriel awaken the entire mighty nightbringer himself? It seems more sensible to me if it was just one small part of him coming to life, kind of like the Eldar Avatars are pieces of Khaine..
Ave Dominus Nox!
