Pretty everybody has heard all that there is to know about the Herald/Unit champion special characters but I thought I would shed some light on the other there greater daemon characters.
The Fateweaver is pretty nice. Fluff wise he was thrown into the well of Eternity by Tzeench and when he emerged he was able to tell the future. Model wise he is a hunched over and very old lord of change with two heads, one always tells the truth and one alway lies. His wings are vestigial remanants. He is about the same price as the Nightbringer but he has some rather decent rules. All models within 6 inches get to re-roll all failed armour, invulnerable and cover saves. He knows all the shooting abilities ot Tzeench and can fire up to three times at different targets. He has a 3+ re-rollable invulnerable save but he only has 3 wounds and if he takes a wound he must pass a leadership test on Ld9 or he leaves the board regardless of how many wounds he has left. If he passes the Ld test he just looses a wound.
Kurgath the Plaugefather
Kurgath is sick (pun not intended.....honest :rofl). He was a nurgling who just happened to injest some of Nurgles most potent diseases which transformed him into a Great Unclean One.
He rides around on a planaquin of Nurgle held up by a horde of Nurglings. He has toughness 6 and 6 wounds and very hard to take down. In combat he has 5 attacks that wound on a 2+ and ignore armour saves. every turn he generates a Nurgling base on a 4+ and has a very, very nasty ordinance template attack that always wounds on no less than a 4+.
Skarbrand the Exiled One
Skarbrand was once one of the mightiest of all of Khornes bloodthirsters. Such was his fury and rage that he attacked Khorne himself which made Khorne rather angry. Khorne punished Skarbrand for his temerity. His wings are torn to shreds and he weilds two axes in his fist. Rules wise all models within 12", friend or foe gets to re-roll all missed to hit attacks. His stats are actually better than that of a regular Bloodthirster.
Thats pretty nice!
Is there a Slaaneshi Greater Daemon? I havent heard anything so i assume not.... :ninja3:
How much better is Skarbrand than a Bloodthirster by the way...?
And whats the fluff for Fateweaver running away?
No Slaaneshii greater daemon special character.
Skarbrand has a higher number of attacks. It also has the eternal hatred rule and frenzy (the only daemon that does now.) 8Y
The fate weaver sounds cool. But the nurgle one sounds brutal...
Kurgath has me scared right now. This guy walks up to monstrous creatures, infantry, or whatever else he wants too and rips them a new one. My main CSM opponent uses Death Guard often, so I'm sure I can expect to see this guy.
Even though I may be facing him, there's one thing I sincerely hope: The horrible mixed toughness rules won't get him. IE: the problem with scarab spawning Tomb Spyders.
Do you remember what to do with the nurglings he generates? Do they form a unit with him, the nearest nurgling squad, or just sort of wander off on their own?
But I'm curious, I haven't heard a peep from GW concerning Greater Daemon special characters or seen models or anything, are there any images floating around the internet?
Why the hell isn't there a Slaaneshii special character? Why is Slaanesh continuously getting beat down?
Nids 2500pts and Breeding!
Because Slaanesh enjoys the beatings. :rofl
"Captain, new vox data from the ordo xenos, . . . we're going to need alot more lascannons"
These guys sounds pretty good. Question is can they stand up to my 'Russ, which is probably yes, lol.
Those are very impressive characters. I'm waiting to really hear of the compatibility of any of the Daemons with CSM. Without some compatibility, I do worry a bit.
