I see alot of rumors about the new Guard codex posted all over the web. I have only one recomendation, kind of a wishlist kind of thing. We would benefit from a forward observer rule or unit. For example, any unit that has a vox caster and does not move or shoot may, if they have line of sight call in an artillery (Basilisk, or Mortar) strike and the scatter distance is halved. Or create a special unit for the HQ like the special weapons squads that can do that. Also, they should state that if you use guess weapons in a consecutive turn, and the enemy unit has not moved the salvo hits the same location without scattering (if the first did not). This small adjustment would make the Basilisk much more effective and allow us to use more troops as the savings from not purchasing a Leman Russ would be good. You can use Lascannon Squads and Missile Launchers in your infantry as tank hunters.
Anyhoo, just a thougth, its the only reason I can think of that would justify purchasing a vox caster, and seems more "real life" to me. It also fits in with the combined arms concept a little better. If they did this they wouldnt need to change much else.
This isn't really a rumour, or preview or news; this would be better in the guard forum, and I'm pretty sure there is already threads pertaining to this.

I was posting in reference to rumors of the new Gurad Codex, so yes I will post here. Secondly, if thats all you have to say why take the time to post?
I believe this is the relevant thread you are looking for. Basically, when people post a new thread with the title "New Guard Codex" in the Rumours, News, and Previews, section, you would expect to see either rumours, news, or previews you have obtained from a source pertaining to this, not what you want to be in it. The above link I posted is discussion on how they could make the book better, what content they should include, as well as discussion concerning the rumours already released. Now, can we let this thread die down?
Despite taking a lot of pride in how high my casualty pile is, I would like to see some sort of ass kicking troop type. Perhaps an Imp Guard equivalent of Terminators.
It's a rumour really.
I saw someone in WD recently said (Rick Priestly???) 'Now we need to focus on some older armies that need updating such as Dark Eldar, IG or Space Wolves' or something along those lines.
"Well... that hurt" - Vampire Jon Skellan (Mannfred's right hand man) after being beaten up, falling down an underground waterfall and being impaled by a stalactite.
I think giving IG powerful units sort of defeats the spirit of IG. They shouldn't be an elite army, they should be cheap as chips and able to lose the equivalent of a 1,500pts SM force before you even notice there is a problem. IG are gun fodder and that's it really.
The IG should, numerically, be able to slog it out with Orks or Nids.
