"GW are bringing out Codex: Mercenaries. The success and enduring popularity of the Kroot list has forced GW to recognise that more background races should be fleshed out. Mercenaries has complete rules for spicing up your existing forces as well as creating entire Tallerian, Kroot, Hrud, Demiurg and Nicassar armies."
This is a paraphrased conversation I had with my local GW manager after having a big meet with the head staffers down in Cardiff. This guy is trusted and generally 100% spot on when it comes to sneak peaks and rumours. Sounds awesome!

About time. I hope the new model kits come with bits to make all the kindreds. GW owed the kroots something after tossing their old rules set.

That sounds awesome. Wonder what the models will look like. Hopefully they'll be good enough to get me back into 40K.
Awesome find. *Rep*
hmmm... you know I have heard about the same thing... from what I have heard they are looking to expand the kroot range as well... even going to have rules in the book about what allies they can and can't take... From every thing that i have heard I think that this will be really awesome.... (even heard that it is jervis himself that is working on this one)
Slaanesh, god of the beer goggles
I swear, if this comes out before Dark Eldar, I'm going to spill plastic in the name of Privateer Press.
It actually sounds pretty awesome, and this alludes to a redo of Dogs of War for Fantasy, I just think some armies need more priority. Like those two editions behind. And with models that have leprosy.
On a positive note, it will quiet all those crazy Hrud fanatics. For now.
I haven't heard from the Nicassar at all, is it in some fluff in a codex somewhere? The only time I heard of them is while reading that "Rise of the Tau" tread in the BL forums.
Surely they cannot be that powerful! An entire race of Alpha-level psykers? Insane.
Looking forwards to this...
I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.
Shouldnt they re-do the existing codexes first (no idea what the plural of that should be) before doing anything new? Im not too keen on this idea to be honest-to me armys have their deliberate strong/weak points and its a bit of a cop-out being able to take a mercanary option to balance out the weakness. Not really willing to debate this but its just my opinion.
