new rules? it says "same great rules" but what does that refer to?

are these pre-painted? it doesn't list them as

i like the inclusion of the sand timer, using stop watches was annoying

Ok- I've been staring at the box contents picture and noted the following.

Models- All new Genestealers and Terminators. The models pictured in the close-ups are the termie sergeant and a regular termie.

Bases- the 'what size base' question is answered with 'none of the above'. there doesn't appear to be a standard base but they instead have smaller squarish bases. Won't be too much trouble to transfer them to 40k if you wanted.

Pre-painted? Doesn't look like it. Precoloured plastic (red for BAs, blue for 'stealers) seems to be as close as it got, luckily).

Plastic tiles? I can't tell, although the thickness of the counters makes me think it's plastic.

Rules- looks like a return to 1st ed, by and large. Gone are the smaller 12 shot flamer counters and the big 6 shot is back. Looks like there's rules for an assault cannon in there too. Staring at the models makes me think there's a thunderhammer in there as well. Timer is back too.

Apart from that we're looking at the traditional rulebook plus mission book, blip counters and tiles etc.

Even if the rules have changed, everything is there to play the older editions if you choose to.

Mmm, think i will be passing on this one, $165 AUD for it is a bit of a push, the mini's are nice, with a little lick of paint on them they would turn up really nice and be nice and usuable for 40k, but alas i collect neither.

Might try to bitz buy / ebay the librarian to paint just to put in a model collection, he does look quite nice.

Well that is actually above my expectations apart from one fact..... LIMITED EDITION???

I'm sorry but they release planetery empires which as far as I know isn't limited but then release something as cool, goog looking and for the price well above what you get in say blood bowl or battlefleet gothic starter sets (well no longer in BFGs case).

God damn hope I get a job this week so I can pre order otherwise I'm boned
