Hrmmm, lets see....Basic floor tiles, walls with random bits of machinery, doorways, hatches, etc....Seriously, you can't see overlap between parts you'd use to build a space hulk and someone like an Adeptus Mechanicus factory? You might not want to slap Space Hulk parts into your Sanctus Imperialis, but it would be easy with some creativity to make multi-use tiles that fit with Space Hulk and other scenic possibilities.

You're not one of those people that's looked at something stupid like a toilet paper roll, a broken computer, or some random styrofoam offcuts and thought "I could make some nice terrain outta that," are you? :-p

I see where your coming from, but sticking a peice of scenery from one game system to another one doesnt make it compatable. It just means you've got some glue and spare parts.
Please note i am not trying to be an ass about it but do you realy see them putting walls and machinery in a game that doesnt need it.Bulkheads/doors would be very nice and plastic tiles that would be good for necromunda scenery, walkways towers ect.
i just dont see space hulk terrain being very gothic.

Oh and yep i do look at anything and work out how to make terrain out of it.In my gaming group im the one who got put in charge of building and painting scenery ive got drawers full of junk that i cand bear to throw away.

Anyhow here,s lookin forward to nid hunting

I dont really see the need for walls- would only hamper ease of play IMO

Saying that though, I have seen some old Space hulk boards which were carved out of polystyrene etc, they did look immense, although you are stuck with the same layout each time.

Time to dig out my old White Dwarfs with Space Hulk campaigns!

no not really, and if you go by the last release of talisman just before it was sold off to another comapny they tried to go retro with card pieces, making it as authentic as possible. id put my money on snap fit termies and card tiles.

I only ever played space crusade as a kid, was spaceulk better?

Oh man, Advanced Space Crusade and Space Hulk, that's just two pieces of Awesome right there.
Space Hulk was more pick up and play, but I always preferred Adv. Space Crusade, for it's tyranid angling.

But if you read recent interviews with the GW folks in the ivory tower, the current gist seems to be that producing card items is expensive, and plastic (in volumes) is not, so I'd actually put my money on plastic tiles. Just look at Mighty Empires, they could have done that in card as a throwback to the old game, but they did it in plastic, and it's not even a game

No, I look forward to utilizing the plastic tiles for cool projects, and I'm making walls if they're not.

Asterisk

I had space crusade on my amiga (nostalgiagasm)

Played space hulk a lot at a friends house. I believe it was space hulk and my foray into space marine fluff that made me discover the original grey knight terminator models, I still love those more than any other model in the game. Despite the fact that I collect chaos now I still frequently get into bidding wars on ebay for a squad of the old-skool termie knights (and someone always sneaks them away from me) . If space hulks coming back out I now have an excuse to actually buy them.

Hmm, sorry for the de-railing, dragging things back on topic. Yes Space Hulk rocks, I can see them packing it with a combination or cardboard and basic plastic pieces, and almost certainly snap fit termies and stealers. Just to keep it easy and open for folks that arent already in the hobby. Then naturally there'll be loads of pictures of the more advanced models in the rulebook to suck the new people in.

On the scenery front I dont know if we will see a lot of plastic components, but I agree if they do, it wouldnt take much tinkering to fit them into cities of death, and that would be sweet. Heck could even use the spacehulk layout to represent an underground base, the entrance to which is somewhere on the battlefield...

If they did allow this project to come out, I def bet that the models will be the "easy fit" ones from the starter box sets like AOBR and BOM.

But they might also include one special character or something.

Anyone remmeber the old drednought model from those games.

NOTHING like it is now.

Much Rep to you, Mighty Camel for that picture alone!

Space Crusade and Space Hulk were my first forays into the hobby, and I think I was about 4 or 5 at the time!

If I knew then what I know now, I would have kept the set and started it up again. I am so looking forward to a re-release, hopefully with old-school card pieces. I can live with plastic, definitely, but the card tiles would just add that feeling to it, you know?
