Welcome to Librarium Online!
GW has the new super heavy variants plus a data sheet for an Emporer Titan up. Whats your favorite?
I am moderately upset that it is not really anything special. At 4000 points and representing the biggest titan available, I expected something really special aside from really big guns and a lot of structurepoints/voidshields.
The Titanic Tread is rather amusing but still nothing special.
Additionally, I have always thought that Titans that large could and should be treated as buildings anyways. It is much more epic to fight on top of and inside that titan than against it.
It's about time they put up their stats for it. Though I agree that it should be more powerful for its 4000 points.
Considering that the Banelord of Khorne isn't THAT much worse, and its only 2500.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
I am so sorry to be picky, but:
It just irks me when people misspell words (not typos but actual spelling mistakes) that they read regularly. There is nothing wrong with the rest of the post - it's an awesome machine and a great Data Sheet. Great news for anyone who has gone to the effort of constructing one of these monsters. Bad news for anyone who has to face one on the tabletop...
Sorry if I sounded narky about spelling, but I think gamers as a rule are intelligent people, and good spelling helps convey that image. Please continue with the discussion of honking big stompy machines.
PS Don't get me started about "Rouge".
Zapp: You see the killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down.
As much as this is a cool idea.. how practical is it?? If you want to use the doomstrike missile launcher.. its max range is over 13m
Your going to have to start playing apocalypse games on a something thats at least the size of a tennis court to make it worth using. anything smaller and is it even worth having the 'model'.. you can just say you have it and its just off the board as it'll reach virtually anything.
And I would love an estimation of the cost of this.. A Reaver is over £500.. i'd guesstimate and Emperor would be close to $1000..
However, after that grumble kudos to anyone who scratchbuilds.. i've been considering a lord of battle..
Current Army Status - Chaos - 15000 points, Orks (BadMoonz) - 3000 Points - Space Wolves - 4000 Points, Necrons - 2000 Points.
Well, at least we now know the 40k scale Emperor is 39" tall (My ruler says that it is 3.66x the height of the Warhound, the model for which is 10.5") Clearly they sized the model down. Those feet CAN NOT hold 52 models each and still have sufficient structure to actually hold the weight of the beast. It is suffering from Rhino Syndrome.
As for the stats, the mythic nature of this beast seems to be decreasing steadily over time. In the beginning they were so big and brutal that they were essentially iWin buttons. Over time folks wanted to read about them, which means the drama of the stories required something other than "And then the Emperor started shooting and we won"
Then again, they also seem to have done some sort of shift I haven't followed... What happened to the Imperator?

RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
The Imperator is an Emperor Class Titan, as is the Warmonger. The main difference twixt the two is its armament and I guess the datasheet covers both variants, just like the warhound - there aren't separate rules for the warhound or reaver variants either.
Emperor Class Titan - Lexicanum
Also seen this for SM's
I love the counts as rule...

I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.
As a Titan Legions afficiando, an Empror Titan was/is a support platform. SUre, it can lay about all and sundry with its weapons of mass destruction. BUT when the enemy gets close with dedicated assault titan variants (e.g. Warlord with Power FIst, Laser burner and close combat head) even the Imperator was going to lose.
And its not the FEET of the model that hold the 52 troops, its the leg bastions, which are probably 1/5 of the height. Being 8" tall, probably around 5-6" wide at the base, and made of slabs of ceramite and Emperor knows what else, I think they would easily hold 50 odd models each (of Tech Guard - i.e. "normal" humans).
The Warrior APC is 6.3 metres long (thats around 3.7" in game scale) and around 2.8 metres tall (to the top of the turret) but holds a crew of 3 and 7 troops. That would seem to indicate that a RHino is probably "right sized" for a small-ish squad of marines, if we asume only 1 crew member, or could carry a full 10-man squad of guard. The doors are a bit misleading, but if we ignore the interior, the Rhino looks ok.
