I don't know if this is old news, but stats for units are on the GW website. When you click on the models to buy them it shows their stats and what units they belong to. I'm not exactly sure why they did this, but I guess it might help some people.
They did this to entice you in to buying the models. You can quickly and easily see how effective the unit is (although you get no points cost so you still need the codex)

I currently play:
Doom Eagle Space Marines
Hive Fleet Omega Tyranids
Goff Ork Boyz(dead)
Tau of O'me
Inquisitorial Xeno Hunters

'Dark Angel Green' Dark Elves in need of fluff
They did that a while ago when they redid the website. We still aren't allowed to post stats on forums though which is a shame considering they are freely available, although we can link to the GW page. Understandable I suppose, they are their property after all.
It's nice being able to check stats on things, but if Black Orcs have movement 10, then I'm not looking forward to facing O&G players from now on. Seriously, check for yourself!
Plus of course stats alone can be misleading. For example Plague bearers look ok when you look at their stats, a high toughness is nice and all, but without knowing that their save is invulnerable, that the weapons are poisonous and more importantly, that they feel no pain you don't know half their worth.
I think alot of that info is in the main rulebook at the back where all the reference is. This isn't really extra material just some stuff in the rule book and a bit of fluff. But as already said the rules are incomplete. The Tyranid statlines don't give any reall hint at what biomorphs do to them for example.
