Picture of the new Vulkan model and the new 40k supplement planetstrike are floating around:
Kudos to warseer's ping terror
A lot of the conversions of Vulkan are a lot cooler than that model.
Planetstrike could be interesting, hopefully it will bring new models for each army along with it!
Looking forward to new plastic terrain though

i dont really think he looks much like his picture in the codex to be honest, could have been a lot cooler than that.

The angle from which Vulkan is photographed could have been better. His relic blade cuts accross the line of sight. I think it is an OK model and am not dissapointed that it isn't in exactly the same pose as the codex picture.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Vulkan looks disgustingly good. His heavy flamer looks like the flamestorm cannon end, lol!
Can't wait to buy that up!
Planetstrike seems pretty cool too
The model would look amazing, if not for the pose. The picture is awkward because the pose is awkward. His feet are looking pretty planted, but he's thrusting the spear pretty heavily (hence the ribbons), and on top of that, his gauntlet looks like it's firing at someone too, so that's three contradictory actions (standing still, thrusting, firing).
IMHO I think the sculptor intended something different--I think the studio painter put him together oddly. He would look twenty times better if he had the butt end of his spear planted.
I'm sorry but i have to disagree with what you are saying. His right foot is planted while his left is slighly on his toes. He has an under grip on the spear, not an over suggestion he is actually throwing it. Coupled with my feet placement, it suggests he throwing off his back foot, which is the start of the proper motion when throwing something. While his flamer doesn't look to me like its firing, but rather he has his arm the pose you would normally have your other arm while throwing something, over his chest almost. So basically, he is in the starting motions of throwing his spear.
One thing is for certain, is that the angle of the shot is pretty odd, so it's hard to really tell, but thats what I gather from him.

Well, planetstrike is a go! Like i said before, i think it's a lame idea, but meh. Don't really like Vulkan, but he's ok. Looks like he's wearing a bathrobe over his shoulders, he could've been a bit cooler. And how do his rifht and left arms correspond? with his right he's harpooing someone standing close to him whilst shooting at the ground at the same time... Kinda lack of focus there.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

I'm looking forward to Planetstrike, not sure it will be as good as cities of death, but should be a fun and new way to play 40k.
Vulcan....Meh..... Looks more like a salamander's commandeer, not a heroic character...
