I heard a rumor that there was going to be a 40k movie made from that bloodquest comic and that it was going to be made like that final fantasy movie.
anyone else here hear about or thinks im crazy as a nurgling who just got his hands on slaneesh's red and blue pills and popped em at the same time?

The Bloodquest movie kinda came to a halt for several reasons...

Personally, I don't like the idea of a 40K movie. OK, it would be really cool to see but think of the consequenses!

W40K would sudenly become commercialised and would have a place in the toy shops next to Turtles and Action Man! Horrible action figures would be everywhere.

Games Workshop would be overrun by snotty 4-year-olds who wanna play the game but have no idea how and this will lead to simplified rules and pre-painted figures. This will scare the older gamers away and GW will become another brick in the plastic commercial wall of kiddie toys!

So to sum it up:

Would I see a 40K movie if it came out? Yes!
Would I want a 40K movie to come out? No!

Sorry guys to blow your bubble, but the rumour was once true, but they did abandon the idea apparently, now according to the site link that Drangonslayero gave (cheers)its just on hold. I like bloodquest but i think it would be much better for everyone including non-gamers if they do something like the Armageddon war pherhaps even this eye of terror campaign that way it would introduce 40K to those who have no clue, like the way they did with Lord of the rings. 40k has great potentially and already a great crowd for making a blockbuster movie (i can see the makinf however being very un cost effective espeacially if it not animation or graphics like the final fantasy movie). It could even become the next star wars. As for the bloodquest movies its not going to be realised as cinema product unfourtunatly according to what i've heard, so that a bit of a thrash.

One day. There is hope however. There's a rumour going around that the makers of LOTR have and are considering something with Warhammer (fantasy of 40k i'm not sure).

i hope they do make a 40k film like the lord of the rings, and if they don't? then i shall have to sacrifice them all to the dark gods.

manga? that would really ruin the gothic feel of 40k i think.

Personally I stand by my last post... I don't want a 40K movie...

I would like to see Pete Jackson make a movie out of The Hobbit though...

My idea of a 40k movie would be a Trilogy of the three great recent wars that have been in fluff and become campaigns. Armageddon, The Gothic War and the Eye of Terror.

Movie 1: Warhammer 40,000 - Armageddon
Tag line: "In the grim darkness of the future, there is only war." (duh!)
Synopsis: Third War of Armageddon, story revolves around Commissar Yarrick and General Kurov (Imperial Guard perspective), Admiral Parol (Imperial Navy), Herman von Strab (he will provide the 'inside' view of the Orks through human eyes), and High Marshal Helbrecht (Black Templars). The film will switch around between the commanders like in "A Bridge Too Far." It would show, especially to people who don't know 40k, the epic struggle of humanity to survive in a dark future full of danger, death and war.

Movie 2: Warhammer 40,000 - The Gothic War
Tag line: "The war continues among the stars."
Note: I don't really play BFG, but I've read some of the fluff from the EoT book.
Synopsis: Abbadon and his Chaos fleet has entered Imperial space. Story will switch back and forth between the Imperial commander (who?), the Eldar fleet commander (who'd provide the Eldar perspective) and Abbadon (Chaos Marine perspective). The movie will show how terrifying Chaos is and introduce the ancient Eldar race, also to serve as a prequel to the third movie... 'Course it'll show really cool space battles, since Armageddon was mostly a 'land war.'

Movie 3: Warhammer 40,000 - The Eye of Terror.
Tag line: "Let the galaxy burn." (Where have I heard that one before?)
Synopsis: After the Gothic War, Abbadon has returned and this time he leads his 13th Dark Crusade. This time it'll be total war with space and land battles involving Imperial forces, Chaos armies, Eldar warhosts and the other races involved. It'll also show the Tau taking advantage of the war took invade Imperial worlds. The focus would be around the world of Cadia and her defenders and the Chaos invaders. And as we all know, in the end Cadia will hold, but by herself...

Wel, those are my ideas anyway...

No not the Hourus Heresey...Third war for Armorgedem, it must be green...for the big screen.
That Ork line I quoted was from The Two Towers, Orks do not get much screen time so I thought it fit...WAAAGH!

No, Horus Heresy, since it's largely responsible for the current Imperium, maybe the 3rd Armageddon War could be a sequel or a Tv spin-off lol. You never know, the Orks could have their own TV channel - The Greenskin Network! lol

Thats what I'm talking about...Da green skin network...WAAAGH TV.
Great!

WAAAGH!!!! TV has a nice ring to it actually ^_^ . But yeah I think a 40K movie should be about the Heresy, if for no other reason than the fact that I'm Chaos :D .
Seriously, you could have some serious big battles there, SM and guard vs. hordes of CSM, mutants, Daemons etc (the latter 2 always do good on the big screen anyway).

About the little kids watching the movie... wouldn't you think the movie would be rated "R"? I mean come on there would be tons of bloodshed and the "scare" factor for the kids too... Daemon summoning anyone?
