A lot of GW employees (at least at the GW I go to) are now wearing these shirts that tell you "everything you've been told is a lie" on the front and proclaim "the true voice of the emperor" at Games Workshop
I asked about the new shirts and I was told that if you have a GW account on their website, they're going to do some "something new" thing (I didn't ask in what format be it article or podcast or etc) which will tell us about whatever is coming up in the next few months or possibly even the next year. Apparently, this is an attempt to kill of the rumour mill (good luck guys, you're going to need it).
Anyone else heard anything. (We have to spread rumours about the end of rumours).
I assume Morgan Freeman is the voice of the Emperor.
Not only do I want to know whats going on, but I want one of those shirts, lol.
I admit it sounds pretty nifty, a little bit like a conspiracy, but I really hope it isn't something about "the Emperor is actually dead" or "this Chaos god, or this C'tan, is running the Imperium" or something equally silly. These things have been talked about for so long, it wouldn't even come as a tiny bit of a shock or surprise.
It'd be more along the lines of, "oh, couldn't you guys have thought of something better?"
Still, I'm interested enough to see where this leads!
Or if you insist on an American voice, three words:
'nuff said there.
I admit I'm curious, too, but I find it hard to imagine they'd drop a bomb like "The Emperor is dead," or something like that. GW would literally have to rip apart the entire history and fluff of 40k and re-write it all over again. I just don't see that happening.
Apparently its something to do with this:So, basically as long as you've joined their website you are automatically entered into the main prize draw. Ooooo....games-workshop.com Prize Draws
It's been over a year since we launched the new games-workshop.com site in the US. Since then we have been adding new versions for the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Eire, Denmark, Australia and Canada.
With one website, we can now add new content and features in five languages at the same time - you can already see the results with What's New Today, Astronomican and The Best of White Dwarf archive all launched in the last few weeks. And this is only the start...
Through the last year, we've had a lot of support and feedback from hobbyists around the world so we thought August would be a good time to have a bit of a celebration of the new games-workshop.com, so we're having not one, but two prize draws for registered customers of games-workshop.com
Hobby Centre Competition
A Battleforce or Battalion to be won in every Hobby Centre
At the end of August, we're going to be doing a prize draw for every Hobby Centre from all the registered customers who put that Hobby Centre down as "My Store". The winning customer for each Hobby Centre (now with over 360 worldwide), will be able to choose a Battleforce of Battalion of their choice on their next visit. Terms and Conditions apply.
Three Global MEGAPRIZES
We're also giving away three of the biggest prizes from Games Workshop ever in a global prize draw from all games-workshop.com registered customers`;
1st prize: A trip for two to visit Games Workshop HQ, The Studio and Warhammer World, including flights, train fares and hotel accommodation.
2nd prize: Every new product that Games Workshop releases for the next twelve months.
3rd prize: A 5,000 point (game legal) Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 army of your choice.
As with the other prize draw, Terms and Conditions apply.
How do you qualify for these prize draws? Simply register on games-workshop.com. If you're already registered, you're already in the prize draw. We'll close both prize draws at the end of August and notify the winners in September by email.
Last week at Chicago Games Day in the US, we unveiled some new Citadel Miniatures for our The Lord of The Rings range. Both Fallen Realms and Mordor armies will benefit from the forthcoming releases.
To see some of these models and get full details on the October The Lord of The Rings release, you can take a look at Adam's Incoming: Evil Reinforcements article.
