some quick recon has unearthed this:

A Warhammer 40,000 Movie | Ultramarines The Movie

EDIT: however the proper website says "For the first time, Games Workshop’s globally renowned Warhammer 40,000 universe is to be realised in a feature-length movie on DVD."

so it probably won't be in cinemas, ah well.

    meh

To me, this looks destined to dissapoint. 70 mins long...straight to DvD? Ick. Given those factors I wouldn't expect a big budget either so the CGI will likely be sub-par. I'm still waiting until they day the do it right with a major motion picture release (however doubtful that seems).

I dunno, the DC and marvel straight to dvd animated flicks aint half bad, so if they can do better we may end up with something pretty nice.
we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm thinking of something like Advent Children.
    Nights Justice Space Marines
    Eldar Eth Kariel Craftworld
Spear of Kurnous - High Elf Expeditionary Army

Ultramarines? That's the best they could come up with? Ugh. That'll basically be a knight flick with guns instead of swords. Why not the Blood Angels? They go nuts. :B Would be a nice horror aspect in it, too!
Okay, so now I have no signature. Great.

In fairness, even if it's the same standard as the intro movies to the Dawn of War games, I'll be pretty chuffed, as I love watching those! A 70 minute movie of that would be epic! So long as they find a decent plot for it then I think it'll be pretty good!...

I guess only time will tell!...

I think your jumping the gun abit its still way to early on to says its gonna be crap. I look forward to it and Mayby it will give us all more death look in to the space marines.

I really dont see whats wrong with doing ultramarines i am quite a fan of them having read a few novels on them. You never know if its popular enough they could do a few different short movies on other chapters or something.

What can I say, I have high standards for quality and skepticism is the easiest way to avoid letdown.

The name says all we need to know. Cocky mofos in blue shooting up everything and everyone "for the emperor." Get ready for 70 minutes of cheesy one-liners and a plot that could fit on a post-it note.
