So at the gamesday event and area, there was a table in the not too distant future.
the planet was called earth.
the location was nottingham
the table was the number 23 table
the event? gamesdays
the mission? space wolfies must kill the thousand sons primarch and magnus must fend off and kill russ.
the prize? what prize! what do you take me for? lol jokes, the prize was!
The staff picked the two best players ( not just gameplay, but tactic, attitude wise maybe etc ) and they will be featured with characters with their own personalities in the next HH book!
the special rules that were in the game.
blast, S8 AP1 and all of manguses five gaurds and magnus who can cast it three times per turn and range of 24. plus his army near him could cast it three times from three different sorcerors.
can use spell points like fantasy, all socerors have three and the primarch 36!. use any of them to ignore any attacks against you.
template, S5 AP4 range 24.
draw a 6 inch line that will ignore los and no one can pass through it or draw LOS. it dissapears in the caster's next movement phrase.
i used custodes and kill a few, but ultimately due to poor planning for magnus he died by russ
i was on the thousand sons side, to teach russes player a lesson and devised a plan with other friendly players around me and we kill his retinue of 10 terminators and cut russ of and slaughtered him with only loosing 10 models of normal thousand sons.
he was cornered again, russ and he only has a guard of 5 guys. the staff make him make saves by doing stubborn leaderships after he was down to one wound and i finally killed him with magnus. again this could of not been achieved without other players helps and co-operation.
the staff who painted/modelled russ. insisted that his wolfs and the wolf primarch ignored invulnerable saves except magnus which got only a +4 invul from russ, plus russ and his reintue got +2 invulnerable saves!
round 4 which i didn't play, but watched the last 5 mins.
russ and magnus were in a crazy duel and the custodies appeared from nowhere behind magnus and were butchered and in the end russ fell, just after russ had put magnus onto one wound left! and magnus dealt him another three wounds and killed him, this time he wasn't allowed to sue leadership as armour save ^^ ( phew )
funny side note: we introduced, well the russ loving staff did, who painted and modelled him, the RUSS BELCH!. S5 AP4 template ^^.
each primarch had 6 wounds, but one had more attacks than the other and silly rules etc.
hope you had fun readying this mini report and the news for the new HH book, sorry for the back structure, but i was too hyped and exhausted while typing the 11 reply or something similar!
i can't remember the title of the book, but...... i guess you all want to know who was picked for the best gamers.
well....there was a chubby kid around 14-15 who literally commanded the russ forces, because he was abit too bossy, without showing it too much and everyone lefted him to go somewhere else, after playing with other russ forces with him for a while. but most didn't know the prize i think. anyway they didn't really like him, like me ^^.
the guy literally hogged the best units and russ and didn't really let anyone else use them, he lefted at the end of game 2.
and the other guy......me!
*looks at lord_borak, your my assistant or my aide in the book if i get chosen ^^*
i didn't see anyone else chosen, so i am assuming it's only me and him, but who knows.
hope you don't think i am being all one sided with my views and being too immature, with a few of my own view points and comments.
EDIT: where was my source? well all the staff that were assigned to table 23.
I'm very interested! I would love to find out more inforamtion related to this topic. Thanks in advance.
me too, I need more detailed info
Going to ask a n00b question, but what does "HH" stand for when they are mentioning a new book? The only thing I can think of is the Horus Heresy, which I doubt would get its own gaming book.
I liked that table. And I know that our very own Minus_T was part of the team (from the London Oxford Street Plaza store, I believe) who constructed it and painted the minis for it. Including a Thousand Son's Landraider with a wolf freehand on it. Ya hear me? Wolf. Foolish boy. Oh, and his name was Tom H. You'll probably know him.
The table itself looked rather cool, nicely themed and I liked the temples/pyramids. Though sad Russ kept dying. ='( Russ shouldn't be able to die, he got hit in the face with a power fist by the Emperor and just suffered a broken tooth. He's hardcore!
I remember, the guys name was tom, because a guy with kinda long hair kept bellowing for russ ^^. the guy wouldn't let his russ die for so many redicculous reasons! but he died in the end and the guy brought the game to an end, and restarted .
the temples was based on the egyptian theme as i was told, which clearly was the case as it fitted the theme really. and i am sure that the emperor didn't hit him that hard ^^ and the fact that the emeporer didn't try to kill him.
By the way if you saw me, i was the chinese lad with black top .
