Ok, so it seems it will be a CG, DVD-only release, but who cares?

Necron Army Building Maxima: Beware of Phase Out
Tervigon Conversion
I'm sure it'll be excellent. Of the highest quality. Not cheesey at all.
More sarcasm anyone?

Lemt makes a good point.....
Space Marines- The ultimate representation of 'Bros before Hoes'
Yeah, I could do with some sarcasm actually... A 40K movie sounds too good to be true and sadly, most likely, will NOT be made in the excellence it deserves.
Sadly, for some twisted sense of realism or other I get the feeling that any 40K movie will get picked up by a movie director like Michael bay or Uwe Boll, instead of a director that can put both a gritty and compromise-less story together with jaw-dropping but functional rather than exhibitionist CGI extravaganza. (Star Wars Episode 3 vs Pitch Black or Event Horizon for instance)
I figure it'll be the film equivalent of the standard SM action novel.
Lots of guns, lots of explosions and a twist everyone saw coming from the 4th page.
AND I'LL LOVE IT.
Thought begets Heresy. Heresy begets Retribution.
Furious Angels (Space Marines) - W18, D1, L8 :)
Pinched Nerve (High Elf Blood Bowl team) - W6, D1, L11 :(
I honestly think they may be best served by making a smashy, rarrrgh kind of movie without a whole ton of plot. The movie is going to be short, and hopefully it will be quality enough not to take away from the fun!
Tekore
...I would actually REALLY like to see this, I don't care how bad it is, but I'd really like to see some of these characters in movie-form (ie Orks... I hope they can get some humor into them). E
EDIT: Coz of my epic slow internet, I got to see "Ultramarines" load very slowly downwards... and found out that when its half way down, it says... W TRAM A DINES.... Tram? Coincedence!?!? Well probably but still....
God my lifes boring... lmao

If it's that, if they can touch that right level of B-movieness, I'll definitely consider it not a failure and gladly watch it even though I'd be wishing for something deeper.
But my main fear is that somehow they'll manage to have some cutesy baby ork be rescued by some remorseful marines... (arch, will they even read the background of 40k?!) or even introduce a youngster as an anchor point for the viewers or worse, some off-the-shelf high-voiced black actor acting as a comic relief... owww the horror, the painnnnn...
All bolters + no story = me not enjoying film. Obviously there would have to be a lot of action, it focusing on Space Marines, but the 40k universe is deep, and so should any film based on it be.
On the other hand, for this reason:
I'm glad Hollywood has nothing to do with it.
I'd rather see a film about the Inquisition, maybe with a few Marines providing an impressive climactic ultra-killy finale.
