like i said maybe theyll change the way fear works as thats the biggest complaint i have with the rules now.
and whil i realise that doing an army book fixes way more problems than a new main book does the main book affects everyone where as an army book is for that army and could take an awful long time to get round to your paticular army.

again thats just my 2 cents

I spose fear could do with refining, the auto-break is a tad over-powered. I just thought though, they could bring back the proper rules for sieges, that would make my day. Plus dwarfs would be awesome in a siege .

Toning fear down indeed. Like -1 to hit instead of 6's if you outnumber the fearcauser but fail the test. -1 or -2 on your breaktest when losing to a fearcausing unit that outnumbers you.

I doubt they will change fear, fear has been like this for as long as I can remember playing the game. For the most part it seems to work fine, since most of the time either you have small units causing fear, which are pretty good in hth, or you have large units which suck in hth. What breaks it is deamons, as they can have large units which are great in hth that cause fear, so it's not so much fear that is a problem, more so the deamon book is the problem.

I hope 8th edition is a little more far off than 2010, as they still have a lot of books to update, and i hope they can at least update them all before the new edition comes around, and it doesn't turn out like 40k were you have some armies that go 2-3 editions without an update.

Such a paradox really that most fearcausing units aren't really that scary ingame :p

"O, no! It's a horde of zombies with WS1, S2 an T2! We can't hope to win a combat with them!"

"AAA! Ogres are charging us! And the only thing we have to go on is ranks, outnumber and the fact Ogres have low WS and don't wear armour!"

"Help! Daemons are chopping us up with WS5 and S5, burning us with sorcerous fire, poisoning us with their very presence, and piercing our armour! We're doomed, for real this time!" <- these are actually scary

O&G has been corrected to Q1 2011.

Related to the main rules i would expect 8.ed. to include a workover in the mission/object-appartement.

I can kill 15 zombies in 1 round of combat ith my longbeards and thane, not really a flesh wall, more a... bump?

Anyway, I'm curious about the new boxed set. But when was the last one, before skull pass released? Skull pass hasn't been out that long has it?

The 7.ed box - Battle for Skull Pass - is from autum 2006.

The 6.ed box - with Orcs and empire - i think is from 2000.

I'm also curious about the new boxed set, what armies do you guys think will feature in it? I personally hope they go for something a bit different from previous editions, maybe leave the O&G at home and try Beastmen,

They are pretty important in the warhammer world, being all over the old world, but they also have pretty valid reasons for fighting most armies.

Also, as their book is (probably) going to be redone in 2010 they could be primed for 8th anyway, Roll on beastmen I say! But who would they fight?
