Green iz da' BEST!
Orkz is made fer' two fings! Fightin', and winnin'!
I'm sure soon they will send out this press release soon, "Well folks the cost of manufacturing plastic is going up so we have no other option but to pass that on to you."
I wish I owned a business with margin like Games Workshop.....
Well, to sum it all up in one word:
I think one of our members were right in titling one of his/her threads "Has GW replaced all their staff with children?", or somthing to that effect, and it had been confirmed in these price increases that the bigwigs in GW are as stupid as they sound. Sorry for my rant but do you really want to pay £17.50 for a Codex/Armies book? I almost certainly won't, which makes discount sites/Ebay that much more attractive an option for me personally, for £2.50 more I can get the paperback version of the Warmachine full core rules!
I'll still play WHFB and WH40K and still won't buy their products off the shelf in any of their Hobby stores and Indie's, second-hand has and always will be an option for me. In effect, nothing's changed for me here except the prices of which I'll never ever pay.
Revolting, absolutely revolting...

The prices are already at a silly level. I may have to start buying second hand only. Even the discounts I get buying online will not be enough at this rate.
Luckily, I have a lot of models already so it is rare that a must have item appears! Last one was the Leman Russ Demolisher and Valkyrie.
Do they realise there is a recession going on? You need to drop prices, not raise them!

I currently play:
Doom Eagle Space Marines
Hive Fleet Omega Tyranids

Inquisitorial Xeno Hunters

'Dark Angel Green' Dark Elves in need of fluff
As I've said before, I'll support the hobby but not GW. £37.50 for a LR!!!! It's getting into the realm of Forge World Prices now. A codex and a box of SM cost less than 30 (27) quid only a few years ago, how can this soar to pushing 40??
One price raise everynow and then is fine but it seems to be every year and not just 50p hear and there. Sad times.
Oh and PS
People dont spend more, then spand exactly the same but just get less.
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand
Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
They really have no brain at all. I wish they were just flying the kite on this but they never do. This happens all the time. GW raise prices, someone stops playing and then a kid comes in to take their place and the standard of gaming drops. it'll never be good for the hobby. Fortunately they've screwed the eurozone on prices for so long now that buying stuff on GW's site is scarily cheaper than local stores. So I doubt this will hugely effect the game but it's still not the right move. I wouldn't mind if they could just create a better game. We'll wait til the end of fifth and see whether or not it'll be worth the hike for a quality game.
Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat
If financial security is the goal of a price hike (which I would assume it is) then I would focus more on cost cutting then price hiking. If they want to stay more secure, then close some GW hobby shops. Personally I never go to them, I have had many bad experiences with the staff, they put them in malls at times who have HUGE rent costs, they are to one dimensional to be truly successful and a lot of the time they are just to small. I HIGHLY prefer going to local comic or gaming shops.
On a serious note. Has this been confirmed in the sense that other companies have come out saying they will have to raise there prices?
