Welcome to Librarium Online!
More Grey Knight rumours from BigRed over at BOLS. I've corrected a few spelling mistakes but that is all.The Stormraven will feature heavily in a lot of pure grey knight lists so it is likely to be a first wave release owing to the fact that more than one army will be using it.-Schedule is said to be 2011 Q1 with a decent chance of January.
-Models are said to be quite ornate
-Stormraven is described as "something between a "Aliens" drop ship and a Imperial Lightning"
-Contradictory talk of the StormRaven's inclusion with the initial GK launch (probably included).
-Contradictory talk of either a Grey Knight vehicle upgrade sprue, or a new vehicle kit altogether.
-High point costs
BigRed also posted this in the BOLS forum. So this statline has been floating about, and said to be baseline stats for Imperial Assassins.
I would assume they would be arriving with the Q1 Grey Knight codex.
WS:8 BS:8 S:4 T:4 W:2 I:7 A:4 Ld:10 SV:4+/4++
Move Through Cover
Thats quite the upgrade from what we have now, and is taking into account the new high BS rules from the 5th rulebook. I would assume that once dressed up with the various Assassin Clade special rules and equipment these folks would be quite nasty.
Expensive but powerful. Using this army will feel like you are playing 2nd edition again. lol

January? Hopefully. That'd be nice, especially if it's quickly on the heels of DE. It seems like the end of the year and the beginning of the year have been big for 40k while the middle of the year gets nothing major. Over the past year we had Space Wolves, Tyranids, and Blood Angels from October-April, but nothing since then. Hopefully we'll get another 3 codex run from october to april.
Stormraven in 1st wave? Yes, Please! If nothing else, at least we'll know what the thing looks like without having to speculate and look at unconfirmed pictures.
As for that statline, I like it, except for the fact that assassins will be really costly now and STILL be fodder for punches and lasguns. Calidus and Vindicare might work well since they might be able to kill their points value worth of things without getting into too much trouble. Personally I wish they made them a little less cannon fodder, a little more Mephiston. I don't care if they're more expensive, they're supposed to be crazy.
Space Marines: Bringing Swords to Gunfights since 30k. And winning.
"Why is there a big red button on the bridge that says 'Exterminatus?'" "Why wouldn't we have one of those? I love that thing."
Well all I'm asking for for Christmas is for Grey Knights in January.
That stat line looks pretty beastly for the assassins, though I don't think it's over powered considering some of the characters out there for other armies, but I could see them costing an additional 50pts of their current cost
I would hardly call that stat line overpowered for assassins and only for one reason, they can't join squads. So you still have to be really smart about how you use them or they still die super easy, just like they do now. With that kind of stat line they are much more likely to actually do something before they die. A single model with that stat line will most likely still die if it blindly charged into a squad of boys by itself, even a squad of terminators... even a tactical squad because of power fists and probably no eternal warrior on the assassin. Weapon Skill really doesn't mean that much, other than ensure it will hit on 3s against most enemies (unless guard and tau who hit back on 5). I imagine their true usefulness will be in whatever special rules they are given.
As an exerienced daemon hunter player myself, the purpose on assassins is to take out enemy characters and elite units. The only exception to this is the eversor who is a one man wrecking machine, you send him up against the enemy rank and file as a road block where his huge amount of attacks can be put to good use. This is even better in larger games where you back him up with either a second eversor or some death cult assassins.
And of course he does a mini predator when hes killed! Now if only you could use him as a target to bring a lance strike down when he dies.....
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand
Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
I know it's been said that GW have dismissed the rumours of there being a combined Inquisition codex, however I was speaking to a quite a few blue/ black shirts over the weekend and as far as they are aware GW are still planning on bringing out a combined =][= book.
Call me very crazy, but maybe the intend to release A Grye Knight Codex (Dealing just within the ranks of Grey Knights) a Sisters of Battle Codex (Just dealing with the Ecclesiarchy & the sisters, so they would have Zealots and priests to boot to) then I combined =I= codex (which would be all about Inquisitors, pure and radical, henchmen, Storm Troopers and all the cool things like that.)I know it's been said that GW have dismissed the rumours of there being a combined Inquisition codex, however I was speaking to a quite a few blue/ black shirts over the weekend and as far as they are aware GW are still planning on bringing out a combined =][= book.
But I doubt anything that silly would ever happen. If they throw inquisitors in, it would be really cool to have a plastic set that would two Inquisitors that you could mix and match bits and a similar kit that would have 6-10 henchmen and would all have different options for them.
Besides my wish listing, its nice to hear anything =I= related is coming out.

Not yet the focus appears to be on Dark Eldar at the moment. Aside from the fact they are going to be very elite and a possible release for early 2011, nothing else is out yet.
